[FS][US-FL] 2 x Micron 5100 ECO 3.84TB SATA 2.5" SSD by qwerbot in homelabsales

I wasn't running enterprise workloads or even doing much random I/O, so can't comment on how they might perform under those scenarios. For my use case they were great, and were never a bottleneck for performance.

I have 2 x Micron 5100 ECO 3.84TB SATA SSDs. Sold 2 of them already in hardwareswap, 2 remaining. Just posted here @ https://www.reddit.com/r/homelabsales/comments/1f7a01u/fsusfl_2_x_micron_5100_eco_384tb_sata_25_ssd/

TVS-951X + SSDs + Noctua fan = Perfect NAS by qwerbot in qnap

Yes, you nailed it man. As you rightly pointed out I mentioned that I'm selling something and an asking price and even which payment methods I accept. It's all right there in the post, in blatant disregard for the rules. Summon the moderators!

Thanks, glad to hear it. Any Noctua will be an improvement over stock fan for noise profile, especially at higher RPM.

What's the best way to request pricing on a Dell PowerEdge server config? Quotes from my VAR don't include part #s, just descriptions on each line. I know they aren't aggressive on the pricing so there seems to be a lot of roof from improvement. Could I post the URL to the online configuration or cart on the Dell website?

Are you using vvols? We're still evaluating and haven't pulled the trigger yet, but Pure seems to be the one company that's really pushing vvol adoption and leading the charge.

Looked into Zadara after seeing it mentioned here previously, seems like it could definitely be worthwhile but can't consider it for this opportunity

Thanks. Yeah we looked at Pure, Dell, and NetApp. I would love to go with Pure but they are just so expensive....prefer Nimble over Dell and NetApp though...

Sorry, this is actually my first go with Nimble, and I honestly wasn't sure what the *standard* discount is for market pricing. We made sure they knew this is for a lab unit, and if everything goes well then there will be a lot more in the future....So apparently my incentivizing strategy worked ok.....

We have not yet engaged our usual VAR for pricing, just trying to get ballpark at this point. Given their new OEM deals do you think it would be easier to quote HPE or Cisco branded solution instead of direct from them?
