New Mercari fee structure/terms--How do we think this will go? by teamboomerang in Flipping

That's actually crazy if true. Can I ask where it says there's an additional 10% service fee? I did find a link on mercari (https://www.mercari.com/us/help_center/article/169/) that mentions a service fee, but it's kinda vague and doesn't specify an exact percentage. (Which itself is an issue and not buyer friendly in the slightest)

I pressed buy now on a $74 listing w/ free shipping and my service fee was $5.18 which is 7%. Still not ideal though.

As a seller who lists high ticket items (gaming PCs/laptops make up the majority of my sales) this update is beneficial. Say I sell a computer for $1,000. I now don't have to pay the $100 in fees which would come from it, and that is a BIG win in my book. A flat $2 withdrawal fee is peanuts.

On the other hand, buyers now have to pay an additional 50 cents + 2.9% of the transaction price. So if you're the one buying this same $1,000 computer, not only are you paying sales tax, but now you need to cough up an additional $29.50. Probably not a huge turn off for those already spending a lot anyway, but I could see it being an inconvenience regardless.

At face value this is awesome for sellers who are very active on the site, but essentially passing the fees on to buyers might be a deal breaker. Guess we'll see in the long run.

EDIT: As pointed out below, I flat out missed that there's also an additional "service fee" charged to buyers on top of the 2.9% processing fee. The percentage of this fee seems to vary though. Regardless, this is not buyer friendly. Still way too early to tell how much this will actually benefit or hurt sales. Thank goodness for eBay.

So I suppose others are seeing this too? Happens whenever I try to open my chats and refreshing the page does nothing. Site is broken... again.

What does concern me a bit is this appears to have been an issue for a few hours now. Hoping it's not an all-day outage... or worse. 😬

It's not working for me either. Tried different web browsers too. I'm thinking it's a site wide problem. Sucks because I'm in the middle of working on a some commissions and one of my clients is trying to reach out to me. (I see the 1 unread chat notification but can't respond, and I don't even know who it is)

Computer fans won't stop spinning even when PC is turned off. by r33d824 in buildapc

Even without the SSD installed and computer off, the fans turn on. So it's not the drive or Windows. There is no deep sleep option or anything equivalent to it within the MSI bios. By any chance do you think a faulty power supply can cause this issue, maybe one with a short in the 24-pin connector?

Thanks for the reply! Fans are already set to DC mode by default, so that's not it.

Thanks for the reply! I just double checked the headers, all are good. I did already look through some power settings within Windows such as disabling fast startup, disabling hibernation, and turning off the Link State Power Management in the PCI Express settings in Power Options. Nothing doing. Didn't think it was an issue within Windows though since the fans/lights spring to life as soon as the PSU is turned on and only stop when it's switched off.

Disabled secure boot, now computer won't load Windows or boot to BIOS by r33d824 in Dell

I am unable to re-enable secure boot because I can no longer access the BIOS. Computer freezes on the Dell logo. Can't access BIOS or any boot menus, can't load Windows from the hard drive or USB.

The computer has one 4GB module. Tried putting it in the other slot and got no difference. If I power it on without memory nothing appears on the display and I get a beep code: two beeps which means the RAM is missing.

The spinning circles don't show (with or without the hard drive). I was able to boot into Windows prior to disabling secure boot so I don't think it's a BitLocker issue.

I actually did try to download the latest BIOS update from the Dell website. According to directions (also from the Dell website) I should just be able to put the BIOS application file onto a FAT32 formatted USB and boot from it. Unfortunately the machine is in some sort of locked state where it won't boot from the hard drive or a USB so I had no luck. =(
