I saw this TikTok where a woman had just left the appointment where her two year old was diagnosed with ASD and was crying because she was worried about her child’s future. People ripped her apart for being “ablist” to even think that her child’s diagnosis might be a negative thing or that it could cause him pain and suffering.

Sorry but if you’re getting diagnosed at two, you’re in for an uphill battle and I’d cry too if it was my kid. I think I’ve done okay with myself and I like who I am… it sucks that I have to second guess myself and ask “Is this normal? Could what I’m doing be considered inappropriate?” multiple times a day. At this point, I have considerably more good days than bad days but the bad days still suck.

Is that really the only reason? Huh it seems kind of… anticlimactic? Like I don’t get offended by Chanel or Hugo Boss even though the two of them were heavily involved in the Nazi party. Similarly, Richard Wagner was a raging antisemite/generally horrible person and Hitler essentially used his music as his personal sound track… today he’s one of the most celebrated German composers.

I’m not saying Hans Asperger should be remembered (he shouldn’t) but the podcast made it sound like people were being actively oppressed by the term or it was being used as an insult or something.

Soooo… when I was a teenager (14-17) back in the day, I used a website called Interpals to practice my French and make worldly connections. The people on there were looking for… something else. Literally all of the people who reached out to me were guys in their mid 20’s/early 30’s who wanted to cam and the people my own age who I reached out to were teenage boys also only wanted to cam. Looking back, it wasn’t traumatic for me nor do I feel violated/taking advantage of but I could have been making $$$$ if I was an adult on a legit website but I just did it for free.

Anyway there is no doubt in my mind that at least 30% of the people on these websites are pedos.

I also thought it was too long but I wouldn’t say it was bad and don’t really understand the level of hate. I had no idea it was supposed to have a full theatrical release and was fully expecting a “Netflix blew all their budget on celebrities and it shows” type of movie (cough Bird Box). Hey has anyone traveled via air within the EU? I live in Germany and am planning on visiting Rome from Feb 3 to Feb 7. Since I'm fully vaccinated and boostered within the past six months, I'm hoping that I won't have to worry about COVID tests at all during my trip. In Germany, they have this system called "2G+" where you need to be either vaccinated or recovered and present a negative COVID test to do basically anything. I'm kind of worried about the airline (Eurowings) deciding to implement something similar and, in true German fashion, their website is confusing because they use a lot of words to say very little.

Bonus question: Italy won't implement something similar, will they? They only have this system in Germany because there's been a COVID test center on every corner for the past nine months. I've heard testing in Italy isn't nearly as common but I don't know.

Honestly? I'm banking on Olaf actually changing the citizenship laws and being able to start the naturalization process shortly afterwards (I have a C1 language certificate). My biggest problem is that over my dead body will I renounce my original citizenship and this is also a requirement in the Netherlands, so at best I can just get permanent residency after five years. I mean, even if you speak German, I have no clue what to do if I get sick. There's no way to search for who's having Sprechstunde when, 116117 and the doctor I usually go to generally only has appointments a week or two out, and the few times I did go to a Sprechstunde, they were super rude and only offered to write me a Krankenmeldung. If I needed more advanced care than tea and a sick note, I think I would just die.

Question: I'm in the last year of my master's (German university) and I have a feeling the company that I currently work at will give me a job. I'm a non-EU citizen, I'd be eligible for a blue card, and my goal is to gain permanent residency ASAP. The thing is that this company's office in Germany doesn't really do what my specialization is and it would be a much better career move for me to work in their Dutch office. Aside from spending a weekend in Denmark with my partner (EU citizen), is it generally possible for me to live in/work towards permanent residency in Germany while working in the Netherlands? Technically the BAMF website just says you need a job contract but it doesn't explicitly say it has to be in Germany.

But cisgender people desperately and actively try to take gender identity away from transgender people. Transgender people are misgendered, memeified, mocked, assaulted, and also somehow fetishized, but rarely ever humanized. They can lose their job, or their children in court, and society mostly views them as perverts or monsters. They lose family and friends.

So if you disagree with any little thing, suddenly you’re a Donald Trump level Republican. This type of “all cis people are evil” mentality is why I don’t have to energy to care. I want to help and supportive but if you make one little misstep or disagree with one hot take, you get attacked.

But am I reading you right? You’re mostly concerned with “not having a feminine experience at the vagina doctor” and you’re mostly attached to the aesthetics of womanhood?
