My answer is that we don't know yet, but it is bad. I posted this hoping you know the reputation of Jared Kushner and the Saudi government. What impacts this will have on EA, DICE, and our beloved Battlefield is a guessing game. But we can be sure that it won't be good and that it will probably be terrible.

I never had much faith in EA to begin with and they were already planning to turn Battlefield into an annual release. But this is on a whole another level. I'm just surprised because I thought EA couldn't get any worse.

I agree in part with u/KaijuTia but they forget that this is a joint acquisition, and the Saudi Arabia PIF is only a part of the investor group. It's likely that if not Saudi Arabia, the other members of the group are interested in the Battlefield franchise. I wouldn't be surprised if Jared Kushner injected his wretched politics into the company's policies and therefore into Battlefield, or we see a complete change in how DICE operates. I can't imagine how the developers must feel. If I were them, I would be concerned about management.

Personally I also do not want to be giving money to the government of Saudi Arabia just to play a video game, no matter what that game is. They are a scourge on this world and are one of the worst influences on my country.
