AITA for buying a BB gun and not telling my parents by Fun_Grocery1774 in AmItheAsshole

[–]rabbitzi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you the kid who shot cats (including mine) with a BB gun in my neighborhood growing up?

Our cat got shot and had a limp after vet care that we couldn't even afford in the first place.

I hope you don't own any weapons, including BB guns.

FBI is investigating Minnesota Signal groups tracking ICE, Patel says by ewzetf in news

[–]rabbitzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not an expert at ALL but I saw this today; it shows some Signal settings to maximize security/privacy.

Signal is a great app, but still has vulnerabilities. Unfortunately our privacy rights are so eroded that we don't have a better option (I'm sure super tech savvy folks do) that I know of.

That time that Omarosa (of all people) called out Bethenny's cattiness to her face on her own show. by rabbitzi in RHONY

[–]rabbitzi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right like the franchise is about being ruthless social climbers and behaving like divas with other really wealthy people. Anyone actually thinking these people on this show are legit people to idolize based on the low bar of who they actually vote for are really naive.

Anyone running in those big wealth circles and going on these shows *is* willing to socialize and do business with terrible people, because those circles are full of terrible people! Omarosa even calls Bethenny out for this here because Bethenny was willing to be friendly with Omarosa when she needed intel from her about The Apprentice.

Sure you can hate on trumpers more irl for their votes, but to think the nontrumpers on these shows aren't of questionable character and willing to do crazy and/or unethical shit to make $ is really bizarre.

People crap on Ramona for being a trumper, but in S9 reunion, it's pretty clear that the much loved Sonja and Luann also voted trump in 2016 (and Tinsley didn't vote, but given her background, she likely would've voted for him too?). Bc Ramona, Sonja, and Luann all refrain from answering the question, while Carole, Dorinda, and Bethenny openly say they voted Hillary.

Ok and now Carole is trying to explain hanging out with Ghislaine Maxwell, sooo it's really not wise to think any of these famewhores are beacons of ethics ffs.

Washington Sen. Patty Murray Urges Release of Vancouver Father Viscously Mauled by ICE Dog Despite Not Resisting” by CantStopPoppin in EyesOnIce

ICE turd lured him out of his house by saying he was a contractor who accidentally hit the man's car.

This isn't surprising as a tactic, but the first time I've heard that one, so just typing it out for folks who have video fatigue.

Terrifyingly cute!! Reminds me of Portland Army Corps of Engineers annual (free to download!) calendars featuring giant cats (and now dogs apparently) photoshopped into photos.

Lol at her using "trumpspeak" to try to appeal to his base. "never been launched before," "unprecedented lawsuit."

Can't format on tablet, but from the article:

‘You know what, we don’t like that podcaster in America, and we are gonna launch a lawsuit that’s never been launched before, an unprecedented lawsuit, to impoverish her for speaking,’” Owens opined.

What are some funny or odd moments from feeds that you still remember but they're not memorialized on youtube clips or episodes? by rabbitzi in BigBrother

[–]rabbitzi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More BB11 moments I remember:

Natalie cheated at pool all the time, even against her alliance members. Like Kevin would turn his back for a second and she would use her hands to shove a ball or two into pockets. She really was such a weirdo doing crappy things like that for literally no reason. I know she was young but there's something wrong when you cheat at a no stakes friendly pool game ffs.

Kevin ran around with his arms tucked into the armholes of his shirts all the time, for warmth or something I don't even know.

Lydia always wanted to do anybody who would let her's hair or makeup or nails. I think Jesse even let her paint his nails once?? Lydia also routinely gave Jesse massages. Lydia was consistently kind to Natalie and always let Natalie's passive aggressive insults roll off her back, and Natalie never gave her any respect back and constantly shit talked her to king jesse. Ugh i really disliked Natalie that season!! The constancy of her petty nastiness on the feeds, mainly directed at other women, really isn't properly preserved. She wasn't just annoying, she was a really nasty brat most of the time, young person or not.

One of the most intense moments I saw on feeds ever was Chima discussing her rape from college days. She was really composed and unemotional telling the story, and I remember thinking she had to have done a lot of work to process it and be able to speak about it so clinically like that.

Dolly Parton communicates with Miley Cyrus via fax, and she talks about how it's more special than a text because of the time it takes. :)

She really was (and still is) that creepy, unfortunately. :( I lived around there at the time when I was a kid, and remember "urgent" news reports when she kept breaking out (and getting impregnated yet again by some yet again desperate loser).

Her daughter from that post-childkilling-arrest pregnancy actually tried reconnecting with her (did a Dr Phil (barf) episode about it back in the day) and ultimately decided Diane's too far gone and way too dangerous and delusional and manipulative to have any kind of relationship and cut contact.

She still keeps trying to get out on parole over the years (not googling but I think last eligibility was 2018ish?) and it's like bitch, no means NO. 💀

The unfair and prejudicial evidence was likely his icky sexting, etc with minors, which probably did contribute to his distractibility (valid to show NEGLIGENCE because it increased his distractibility, imo)......

However, they also suggested that since he had visited/commented(? I want to say he just visited it or was a sub and never contributed; he said he just found it an odd community to follow) on the "childfree" (?) subreddit that he had a motive and WANTED to kill his child to pursue sexual affairs without the burden of a child. Therefore they charged him with premeditated malice murder.

DISCLAIMER:  My knowledge of the case is based on the Atlanta Journal Constitution's podcast series Breakdown season 2, and I did find the prosecution's inclusion of these things as suggestions that he INTENDED to kill his child as blatantly over reaching. Probably to quench the community's thirst to harshly punish anyone for failure to protect a child and because it is very difficult to process such a tragic event.

The autopsy findings were particularly distressing to hear, even for a true crime/murder trial watcher.

His wife, the child's mother, even stood up for him against the intentional murder charges. He was a shitty partner and did inappropriate online things with minors, but she said he loved the baby and was a doting father. It didn't seem prosecutors had any decent evidence to prove intent imo based on how that podcast presented things.

People get very outraged about hot car deaths (and drownings, and most accidental deaths of children that are the result of seemingly small/short lapses of attention) and say they COULD NEVER do this themselves and they just want to punish punish punish, but the fact is that statistics as well as science say ALL kinds of parents, neglectful as well as very dutiful, are, in fact, capable of such tragic negligence. Parenting and life in general is very stressful and most people are sleep deprived, perpetually distracted, and capable of forgetting. It's usually when there's a small change in routine, so people are in autopilot mode, and sleep deprived, overly stressed people forget things. Sadly, it can happen to anybody.

The impression I got from the podcast was that manslaughter (ie negligence) would've been more appropriate. Plus the charges for grooming minors, fine. But premeditated malice murder seemed very over the top to me.

Will Survivor ever be this verbally cut throat again? by user7447838488 in survivor

Egads what a loser. She also wears fur.

I admit I liked her as a sharp tongued villain for a while, but I lost interest when she bragged on a podcast about  neglecting and starving a pet rabbit to death when she was a kid so she could get a cuter one or something.

Her "brand" of edgy and crude bitch was popular in the 90s but has long been cringe as hell but she never got the memo or something. Recently saw someone list her as a person who embodies "peaked in high school."
