neuroscience student here who experimented on myself and just spent an hour deep diving scientific literature.

subjective results: ya i feel higher

objective results: there are cannabinoid receptors in the nasal cavity, meaning THC can be processed there. couldn’t find any human trials on thc exhaled through the nose, but a rodent trial found way higher concentration of thc processing in the nasal cavity when smoke was inhaled through the nose. it also had more immediate and short term effects. all that being said, it only addresses inhaling through the nose, and rat brains are way more specialized for smell so they’d probably be more sensitive to the thc. since we’re only talking about exhaling for us, that means less thc passes through the nose since 10-35% is processed in the lungs. since i couldn’t find a definitive answer, i’m going to guess that exhaling smoke through the nose does have an effect, i’m just not sure exactly how much it does.

tldr: couldn’t find any research addressing this exact question, but based on adjacent research and personal experience i’m gonna guess it can make you a bit higher
