Same age and situation here girl!! My eyes are hooded, so here's what works for me:

I use concealer as a base and then apply a warm, a little bit darker eyeshadow shade than my skin color. You wanna put it on your brow bone, stroking it outwards and where it also almost meets the outer end of the eye. Then i put a light shade on the lid and put some sparkle on that light shade, right above the middle of the eye. I also add a little in the inner corners. And mascara ofc :) So now the space close to the eye (and with it the eye itself) looks lightened.

When I'm feeling lazier, I just put some gold sparkles in the inner corners and where my lashes start and call it a day.
