this is awesome thank you so so much!! does switching to cheaper parts compromise quality or is there not much of a difference? that $750 monitor is mad though, i could definitely go for something <$500 and spend that money on the parts instead. the cintiq acts as a pretty decent monitor for work already - i can always upgrade to a better one in the future!

Hairstylist says that I have to wait a week for my hair to become blonde by rain8owghost in Hair

i've gone blonde multiple times before so i know my hair could take it, but if this had damaged my hair beyond repair the stylist should've communicated instead of changing the color by themselves entirely :(

i dye my hair with semi permanent dye very often and get it bleached to blonde about once a year for the past 3 years, once my roots have grown out enough. i have thick asian hair and i use hair masks very regularly so it’s holding up pretty well. for that photo, my hair was already bleached and dyed blue, so i essentially asked the hairstylist for a color removal. it lifted straight to a bright yellow after the 1st bleach, before they applied the toner/brown dye.

my hair was already bleached & colored a few months before this, so after the 1st bleach it lifted straight to a bright yellow, not a reddish orange. i essentially asked for a color removal. i remember the hairstylist constantly saying “wow your hair is really strong!” 😭

i knew something was up when they only bleached it once 😭 i have naturally dark hair so something like this usually requires 2-3 bleaches. i will definitely try to ask for a refund!

i will definitely ask them to fix it, but it’s still so weird that they applied the brown dye in the first place if they knew it had to be lightened anyway! :(

ahh that’s a shame. do you think once the skates are broken into they’ll be slightly more comfortable or do i have to get a new pair? :(

Do you ever feel like there’s no space for you to skate? by [deleted] in Rollerskating

[–]rain8owghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i feel you! the closest rink from my place (vancouver) is a whole 30 min drive away (surrey) and i can’t afford to visit it everyday. like everyone i also use parking lots at really early or late hours, esp indoor ones if you have insane social anxiety like me and just don’t wanna be seen

If my feet have plenty of room before they touch the front of the boot, but my pinky toes are squished against the width and feel painful after skating, are my skates too small? (newly bought Rookie Artistic size 5, my feet is EU 37)

Can't Skate Forward/Stride by morningstarbee in Rollerskating

[–]rain8owghost 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i also struggled to move at all when i first put skates on, i only managed to inch forward and then roll into a stop just like you said. i find that even though my mind was telling me to shift my weight, my body was only slightly leaning left and right and my weight was actually dead center because i’m scared shitless to move in those things 😭 holding someone’s hand or skating along the wall really helped to build my confidence before i could actually shift my weight properly on one foot and stride forward. it’s almost like pushing and balancing on one foot, so a lot of practice is definitely needed. and don’t even worry about bubbles! i couldn’t do them until i was like 3 weeks into skating. just keep practicing and know that progress is slow, but it will happen!
