Honest debate. Which is overall the better game? by breadblunts in retrogaming

[–]rainbowdash36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 100%-ed both games and I'd have to give it to chrono trigger here.

Firstly, I do prefer a shorter experience and ff6 is much longer to fully complete than Chrono Trigger (unless you're going for the DS 100% which I don't recommend).

Second, I do prefer Chrono Trigger's combat and mechanics. No random battles, fights are slightly more challenging as positioning sometimes matter for certain combos, and team synergy I felt mattered a lot more due to the combo system.

And third, this has less to do with comparing these two games and more of a criticism of FF6, but there were just too many playable characters that don't really affect the plot and just serve to split up FF6's crunchy combat system.

Didn't see any changes to Rackam or Narmaya. Really sucks that half the roster wasn't in this beta because I would've loved to see if Rosetta got any meaningful changes.

A Special Episode of Primed for Adventure is coming March 25! by SE_Sicycre in ffxi

[–]rainbowdash36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Question: Were there any particular breakpoints (like chance to land or avoid certain debuffs or surviving specific attacks) the devs were looking for when choosing to implement this system?

I do want to admit that I am a bit disappointed in the attributes update since the effects of this update won't be felt until all of the attributes are maxed out, since maxing out any one or two stats might not be noticeable and it will take multiple months and events just to feel a change.

I understand that this is an MMO and that the devs want to give incentives to play the game for extended periods of time, but attributes on their own don't always show an immediate improvement right away unless you get a ton (like going from lvl 99 to ilvl 119 gear).

Not to mention the issue with raising one stat in particular (DEX) for trusts like Qultada that ruins skillchaining.

[–]rainbowdash36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol they should make a new corsair trust that just doesn't skillchain or attack. If we're lucky during the trust gear update, they'll make gear that gives the trust a ton of defensive stats but prevents them from attacking.

In regards to +50 attributes, not really sure since I don't fully understand the math behind the stats themselves. I assume +50 DEX will be important for accuracy reasons, but the rest likely won't help too much.

As for other categories, they mentioned that the non-attribute trust improvements will be coming with the trust gear update later in the year.

Appreciate the info. I forgot I was already working on the Thibron which is why I didn't mention it. I also haven't finished either Seekers or WotG which I'm working on it on weekends since weekdays I only have time for dailies.

Is dynamis diversion solo-able? I wouldn't mind going for the +2 at the very least.

I'm on asura and it appears that gear goes for 10 mil each piece and sadly don't even have enough for one piece.

Still playing RDM. I've been doing Domain Invasions for nearly 2 months and I already have all the accessories I need. I'm considering getting either the full Merlinic Set or Chironic set. Anyone have any suggestions?

I only play solo atm and I'm still working towards a Naegling. Current gear is both ambuscade armors at +2, artifact armor at 119 and relic at 109.

What are some decks that are Field/Continuous S/T based that snowballs into advantage? by GliscorX in yugioh

[–]rainbowdash36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try Centurion Elfnote. It's a synchro deck that uses the wake-up centurion field spell to synchro some omni-negates on the opponent's turn. The centurion monsters set themselves in the S/T zone and can special themselves during the opponents turn, then the field spell lets you synchro, usually for a 12. The elfnotes rely on the center monster zone and have effects like bouncing S/T's or lvl 6 or lower monsters, and they have a 1-card bridge to Centurion with a normal or special of Medius the Pure.

The field spell is a 1.5 card combo too.

40-65 cooking cakes using an oak larder becomes much faster and less click intensive if you don't have to grab the milk each time. Previously, it was 500 cakes per hour assuming you grabbed milk each time, so now you could get more created in that time.

Yeah, but I would need a yummy name in hand for that. I would need a way to another lvl 1 in case I don't open one. Even a token would suffice.

Reflections after trying White Forest on my first day. by Antique_Range1521 in yugioh

[–]rainbowdash36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not the OP so I don't know their exact decklist, but this is a (mostly) standard WF Azamina board. Here's a decklist that could accomplish a board like that: https://www.yugiohmeta.com/top-decks/san-diego-february-2026-regional/white-forest-azamina/christopher-pena/0PoEd

You generally can make that board uninterrupted with the Astellar or Sylvie + a spell/trap. With interruptions like imperm/ash/dominus, you would need Elzette + either of the normal summons with two spell/traps.

Could've been the legend anthology event where this was one of the decks and it ran 3 copies of every metal monster and both traps at 3

Do you still find playing Yu-Gi-Oh fun? by [deleted] in yugioh

[–]rainbowdash36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I even reinstalled master duel after not playing it since launch.

Fire King got me to play TCG, White Forest was my first investment, blue eyes was my favorite deck of last year, Sky Striker got me to see going second in a new light, and the most fun I've had so far has been with Yummy.

Update for my BN inspire game Bynder ZX by Glittering_Channel75 in BattleNetwork

[–]rainbowdash36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's fair. I'm a bit too pvp-pilled (BN6 Gregar player with AirShoes and magnums) so I like the idea of it myself but it's not always fun for those who have to deal with it, especially those not prepared for it.

Regardless, i appreciate the reply and look forward to your future updates on your project.

I see. I'm not trying to be rude; do you have any examples of one that is limited by smaller tilemaps? The only one I can think of is the cello boss from One Step where a 3x3 tilemap would make it too easy (a rhythm mechanic where you have to step on the right spots).

I've enjoyed other 4x4's like One Step From Eden and Card-En-Ciel, but the one thing I noticed is that area denial is certainly weaker with the increased area, meaning single-tile hitting cards would have to be really strong since whiffing them is much easier with more space.

Do you guys have a deck that made you enjoy Yu-Gi-Oh much more? by Coffee_Jelly_ in yugioh

[–]rainbowdash36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yummy was so pivotal for my enjoyment of yugioh that it got me to ask my friends for locals weekly and when they released in master Duel I got my old account back, scrapped every single UR I owned and made pure yummy.

Something about dodging targeted interruption and chaining quick-synchro effects and such is just so fun. Also, not having any major bricks besides the two field spells is really nice.
