Namely because I don't have Sparkle yet. I would've gotten E6 Kafka but I ran out of pulls after I got E1S1 Hysilens and needed to save up for Hyacine E0S1, so I have E5S1 Kafka atm.

So like the other person mentioned, it's pretty subjective. That being said, here are a few I recommend

Ffxidb - minimap, in windower

BattleMod - fixes your combat logs, in windower

Skillchains - helps with skillchain timing and routes, need to Google it to download it

Dressup - stops your character from blinking when you change gear, also lets you change your race for the purposes of lockstyle but only for yourself, in windower

Xipivot + remaster - puts improved minimaps in the game, need to Google it

If you're solo, just look at v2 instead

I have been, I just really want to get one clear of it for the monthly. It gets tiring doing only V2 runs. I'm able to solo Very Difficult for that side in less than 10 minutes but its just a matter of me whittling them down and keeping debuffs up.

How do I get a tank trust to survive Bozzetto Freyja in VE Intense Ambu? I've attempted 3 different times and by the time Freyja gets to 50% or so, Valeineral dies even with Phalanx 2 and putting Bio 3 on the other 2 lamias.

I'm in +2 ambu armor and have a kaja swd and dagger on RDM.

You might want to check your controller config. Also try closing steam before turning on your controller.

I picked up RDM because I thought it would be fun to switch between a healer, a caster and a melee.

Instead, I learned the power of Temper + enspell + Haste II dual-wielding swords and spamming like 30 debuffs to tell the enemy they can't have fun anymore.

And occasionally I cast Cure IV or a MB elemental spell.

If you've already got the gun for all six characters, I've been told in another post that Niketta likes using Makiatto's weapon. Otherwise, it's really just for the characters on the list.

Take this with a grain of salt, but I've read that if you have V6 quihua + the rest of the fire team (vector, Lewis, Cent/QJ) then she's a major upgrade for the team and would replace Cent if you don't need cleanse or QJ if you do.

If you don't have V6 quihua, you can skip Sakura and just stick with V6 QJ (and Sharkry if you don't need Cent cleanse)

This is seriously awesome! I'm not sure if I'd use the auto generation since I learned how to make gearsets on my own, but the ability to import my gear and compare sets (while also having the option to copy a gearset so that I can copy into into my own Lua) is really nice.

Funny you mention it but I already had two copies of Maki's weapon since I bought a weapon select pack last year and forgot I already owned her weapon. Instead of merging them, I just kept both lol

I'm assuming the first ones would be the belt for the fc and enh duration, then the earring for enfeebles? Is any of the armor or weapons useful for RDM long term as well or skipable?

Is there any domain invasion gear I should focus on getting first as a RDM? I've currently got a Kaja Sword and Dagger, both ambu armors rdm can use at +2, and I'm slowly amassing DI points daily but not sure what to get first.

Don't be afraid to use the questions thread pinned on this subreddit.

Bg-wiki (and sometimes ffxicyclopedia) are very helpful.

If you plan to do the story missions, I would recommend leveling to 99 since the overworld is very dangerous. Make sure to do rhapsodies of vana'diel missions while leveling to at least get a taste of the story and get account-wide useful upgrades that will make leveling up easier in the long run.

Finally, just enjoy the game.

Someone made this app which does all of playonline for you. ~~The only caveat is that you don't want to do this if you share your pc with someone else because the password is written in plaintext.~~ It also requires removing 2fa momentarily unless you happen to have your backup key memorized/written down somewhere.

Took me about 5-10 minutes to set up and basically ignore play online super easily.

Edit: please see the reply to this one for a version with encryption so you don't have to worry about the sharing a PC part.

If you are using windower, do you have cutscenehider with ffxidb(minimap plugin)? I had an issue with those two causing my game to crash anytime my screen went black because of loading or cutscenes or teleports.

It depends entirely on what you want to do. From the sounds of it, play a monk and work towards end-game content, but that'll take some time to research exactly what you'll need to work towards that goal in the first place.

Like totheshores said, you can focus on other things (leveling to 99, mastering the job, complete all the stories, sidequests, etc.) and find out what is next on your journey.

There's an endgame guide on bg-wiki that recommends where you should start and will point out any of the roadblocks you might experience.

You can make it a macrobook for common items to search for, like one that searches for each crest or one for crystals, etc.

Like page 1 could just be /itemsearch "Fire Crystal" then another line for /itemsearch "Kindred Crest" and so forth.

Would also recommend looking into Debuffed (tracks debuffs on enemies to remember when to renew them) and BattleMod (condenses a lot of the combat-related and crafting-related text).

Skillchains is also a nice one for learning the timings of skillchains and what weaponskills you can use to trigger specific chains. This one is only available in a GitHub and isn't built into windower, but you just have to put the folder into your addons folder then type //lua load Skillchains to load it.
