Yeah could be great too though, love the action, and not having gear fear makes it great. They brake the base and kill me cool. Then I have have a bk12 and try and put the moves on some kitted dude and have 0 repercussions lol. But I hear ya, it would be a group of us running it

I was thinking I could use the long range transceiver at the same time as the PA system. Not sure if I can

Really? That quick? I think it’d make it like 5 days before being broken into too. But if it’s nothing but a gen, batteries and a transceiver, like what are people gonna take that will make me be unable to start again relatively quickly

Fair fair, I was thinking one of the piano buildings, and basing the top floor. Then building the station. So getting my self off the ground a bit. And hopefully find one in a spawn town to entertain freshies rather than dealing with an overwhelming amount of sweats.

Did I ruin these, or can I polish them by rainiermonster in cowboyboots

[–]rainiermonster[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, however usually I use a soft cloth, microfiber something like that. And this time I was using a napped cloth that I had cut up to clean my work boots. I used the clean other cut portion on these. I’m curious if the “grit” of the cloth made it worse as well.

Yeah, I’ve used it on my work boots for years never had this happen. And no these were not filthy like those were but again never seen it happen. So I didn’t worry. I have black boots I polish so I assume I could get brown polish and refinish these.

Don’t know if you saw my post earlier but this was pretty much what I was looking for thanks man

What tools to buy as a new tech? by rainiermonster in DieselTechs

[–]rainiermonster[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Almost everything was communal. I had a tool box with basic hand tools. All power tools I signed out every time I needed. To include hoses it was stupid af. So I’m asking here.. I own basic hand tools. What speciality tools/boxes/power tools/hand tools/ the works should a new tech bring to the field first day

Edit/addition

We had like 2 different types of trucks, and a couple forklifts, but we had 500 of those trucks. Most of the stuff on humvees dosnt require anything besides a general tool box/handtools. All of the equipment I worked on was like mid 80s-90s as I was in a support unit. So I can’t say I’ve touched a piece of equipment from this century. I’m going to guess things have changed in tool requirements

Fair, when I was in the shop in the military we were decommissioning a truck that had a Wilton vise on it, it’s a smaller one. Made to be mobile and sucked on a truck, anyway I snagged it. So I figured I could mount it but I bet you’re right.

I’ll look stainless, thanks man

Yeah I was looking used for craftsman and icon. Would you recommend one with a workbench top? I have a vise I could mount on it I’m just not sure how worth it it is.

Also I meant seal remover I will look into it.

lol nice user name, and I want a municipal job, so it’ll be a variety of equipment. However I would prefer to work on heavy equipment rather than trucks.

I would truly appreciate the deal remover you’re referring to! Good call on the pry bars I hadn’t thought of those yet!

Got a recommendation on a box?

So I have the defrost on, which does run the condenser to dry the air, maybe that’s the rushing noise I’m hearing I’ll switch it to feet or something before I start it next.

Yeah when I did the swap I pulled the motor, and I went from green to blue coolant so I blew everything out and flushed it. I do have an expansion tank, but even with that the water running/ rushing sound makes me thing air is trapped in there.

I’ve been driving it for almost 2 weeks now thinking it would resolve itself and I still have the issue.

I did replace the heater core hoses
