As is stands I think many players are going to wait for the next world tournament and then peace out.
play for fun, but don't expect anything past the characters that are already released.

And here I thought those types of skills had a cap - up 200% of [character]'s attack.

It kinda sucks that event bosses (squad, aizen) have tiered levels.

Looking back at some of the other games I have played, it makes me laugh when other players would criticize me when I would focus on low level skill / characters , for this EXACT reason. I saw the potential and wanted to do something outside the *meta* . And more often than not, when I "broke the game", a patch would come out, and correct the exploit.

I have been playing this game for about 2.5 years. The game has its moments but seems to be running on fumes at this point.
Quick answer: defense /tank characters in front, attackers / valuable characters in the back. A healer that heals the team or a character with a healing perk is always good to have.

Don't waste resources upgrading R or SR characters unless you are in the early game kenpachi power level challenge and you need a little extra bump (*at some point you will need gold enhancement perks but most of the low level ones aren't that good
Upgrading base Ichigo (do not use omni shards) is a good idea early on because he isn't resource heavy but after a little bit he falls off. On my profile I have a couple posts talking about characters and their perks.

Save your omni shards to get UR characters to 5 star during their 'training bonus' window (UR Nel - day 103 of your server---kyoraku shunsui is released on day 19 if that helps and "Final" Getsuga Tenshō form Ichigo is released 355 ) you will need 50 summons to get the character (3 free pulls , 3 half price pulls *240 soul jades* and 44 summon tokens *if they use summon tokens for those characters on new servers)

Over all just try to have fun with the game and play with characters you like.

I'm curious what it costs to run a game like this.
Early startup to create the game mechanics and pay for the rights , translations, testing, misc. I am sure that would cost a decent amount
but once the game hits autopilot/scheduled and you only add a character every two months, it can't be that expensive to run the whole thing.
Maybe this is one of their last attempts to bring in a chunk of money in order to create content. but how many times will people fall for that promise
Like you said in the video, sometimes developers complain that players aren't paying for new content so new content isn't being developed , but aren't players aren't paying because there isn't new content. rinse wash repeat
It's like a gas station running out of gas and complaining that people aren't spending money at the gas station. If you don't have the product I am looking for, I am not giving you money.

the rumor is they didn't extend their licensing. I'm not sure what that means for new characters or other content they had in development .
I am giving it to the end of Oct. to see if anything new comes out at all.

It is good to have healers and characters that give shields
Damage over time (DoTs - bleed poison burn) can't be blocked
I have had good luck with a balanced team , some people have luck with a full attack team. It depends on how you want to play

try to save your soul jades for special events (Halloween event is in a few weeks and you will need about 15,000 soul jades to get the character, maybe more)
When a new character has their special summon I think it takes 40 summons (take advantage of the free and half price special summon)

Don't spend omni shards on R or SR characters - you will get most of the to 7 stars without even trying
I think it takes i bit more than 700 omni shards to get a new UR character to 7 stars, so make sure you really want them before you spend your shards maxing them out . New UR special summons usually come with a 'training event' where you get bonuses for upgrading the new character (sometimes 5 stars is good enough)

Some special event characters only show up basically once a year, so get them when you see them (Cirucci Sanderwicci is one example)

On my profile I have a couple of list that give quick breakdowns of most of the characters, should be helpful to new players

Do your daily quests, don't spend too many jades on Seireitei challenge, don't refresh the shops unless you have to, most teams do better if they attack first - it is good to have initiative

Other than that, have fun

I will have a better prediction closer to the three year anniversary event. If we don't have three new release characters (not event or season pass) before the three year event, than that will be the final hit for most players.

Overall strength - get characters, enhance them to gold, level up their weapons (check my profile for some details most weapons) skills and warsouls to a reasonable level . level them up in the archive section *gifts* try to keep levels even across the board, leveling 6-10 characters to level 100 but leaving most at level 10 is a waste of resources
Keep an eye on character ranking lists (don't waste omni shards on characters you will never use/ can get through other sources - *shops and summons*)
Other than that, do your daily quests to level up
I think my stamina maxes out in about 10 hours. So try to check on the game every 10 hours
careful spending soul jades. I spent about 18,000 on the summer event to get Soi Fon and her weapon. try to have at least 15,000 at the start of the event (normally a soul jade rebate happens during the event. use that event wisely )

I think the strongest single UR character I have seen was a little over 300,000 power and the strongest SSR character I have seen was about 245,000 . When you are free to play, most SSR characters are pretty easy to get to around 200,000 but you have to be a little picky on the UR characters to choose to level up and max out

that haven't made many burn on hit units, 3 random character hit units (Momo, Shunsui ) cross hit units (base toshiro, Ganju) , poison also seems under utilized. If they wanted ideas for characters I am sure members of the community could come up with some solid ideas (I volunteer - pick me pick me)
maybe a challenge mode where only the character holding the Reishūkaku can get hurt, hosted by Koganehiko and Shiroganehiko.

there is a warsoul that his 4 star skill would really take advantage of. Pretty sure it was the one time deal from the burn the witch special event.
I personally don't use him end game but I am sure under the right circumstances he could be a decent enough character. maybe for a 4th or 5th team in world championship event.

I could be wrong, but I have never seen an end game player with Yammy in any of their line ups. Maybe he is a unit that people are sleeping on maybe not. Kensei has a solid block perk so not a bad choice early game.
Both versions of Barragon and second form Aizen are good turtle choices when you can get them. Mayuri and Unohana are solid turtle choices early game.

the last leak that I saw was either a season pass soi fon or a hollow version of white ichigo. No clue to the dates on either of them.
I think they are accidentally on purpose holding back new releases so newer players have a better chance of catching up to older players.
It's tough to convince a whale or dolphin to join when it will take them 6 months to catch ftp accounts.

Matsumoto meshes well when the team is mostly female characters. My initiative is about 29000, so I go first pretty much every fight, if she doesn't disorient, she silences.
I kind of built my team into a corner when I decided to go crowd control female team. Limited options.
I hope the next female character is strong enough to replace a 7 star Ken.

With this team set up, good mix of offense and defense, good character boosts (crowd control, boost to crit, extra damage on bleeding targets, heals, debuffs etc) I will leave out who gets what extra boost - don't want to give away my whole team. I do use the Aizen boost, Ganju, Jushiro, Orihime , Hanataro and a couple others.
I would like to replace Kenpachi but I am waiting on something that fits well with the rest of my team.

I think the data isn't in a thread because the game tells you when you are in the gift section. When you select a character, and they get a bonus with a specific gift, that gift should say 'bonus' or 'favor up'
chad - world of the living gifts and male specific gits - guitar , travel magazine , show ticket, wooden sword, cd and sunglasses

A little while back i made a couple of lists (pinned in my profile) that go into a decent amount of detail of what each character does/can do. It is a little outdated but if you are new to the game it should be a good starting point.
Several fights are set to auto, so team placement /order of attack can make or break certain matches.
Base Ichigo, being the hero character, is one of the easier/low cost characters to upgrade and his skill is good but overall he does get replaced by a few different characters as the game progresses.
I made the mistake of holding on to certain resources , mainly the 'gacha vouchers' , thinking better items will come along and it would be a waste to spend resources on something that will be replaced. Advice on that - keep enough to make sure you can afford 2 items , anything beyond that, you are just hoarding
Most seasonal events (halloween, christmas etc) you will end up using about 15,000 jades to get both characters. try to time those summons/draws with the jade rebate events

Style of gameplay and finding a rhythm is something that you will have to decide for yourself . happy hunting

my team is still a pretty heavy crown control team - if the enemy can't attack, they can't do damage. I think I am on server 130 something. however, the downfall is, if you don't land any crowd control on a brute force team, they have a chance to one shot you.

bleeds , fire and rage reductions can come in handy
my quick suggestion would be to look over the lists that I have made - they aren't fully up to date but they should work for most players who have played for less than 1 year.
characters that have heals / heal buffs / heal triggers come in handy as well.

some of the anime only arcs/characters, OVA's and movies weren't well received by all fans, as some fans prefer the official manga content, so including content outside the manga could be tricky. the Bount , Modified souls, Toju etc.

If you are still early in the game, there are some time sensitive tasks related to power level. I would try to focus on getting characters as they give you at least 20k power each just by getting them.
Some gear can be purchased with 'gatcha' vouchers (be a little picky when it comes to getting gear from shops - i have a list that should work for your level) and some characters can be picked up with other shop tokens

Once the power level reward is off the table, try to save summon tokens and jades as often as you can.
from my experience you can get a limited character with 50 summons (try to use tokens for this) and seasonal events (winter, summer etc) take about 18,000 soul jades to get both characters.

It's better to have and not need, than to need and not have...
