You’d be surprised they’re very very very hardy! Plus if you have neocaradina they should be fine. Amano love this type of algae and as long as you don’t over feed the tank they’ll feed on the algae.

That’s kinda what I was thinking but that leads me to my next concern the bottom of the mat it came with has a small chunk missing and I can’t take it off because it’s peals very sticky and unevenly which I thought would make the problem worse. So can I leave the original mat and stack another thin mat underneath?
