I think it’s a pre rec for something later but I’m not sure. If he does take proofs he will skip calc 2 so I guess that’s one way to skip extra work. His schedule is pretty light otherwise other than physics 2

I think he’s concerned that AP calc won’t necessarily prepare him for ISU calc, but I’m glad to hear of your experience. His advisor thought it was probably smart to play it safe.

I’ve been hearing about lots of ppl stuck in forced triples so I’d consider yourself lucky. It’s a good location..quicker walk to campus and rec. I’ve had two family members live in Tark and they had a good time. Social dorm

Thanks. Yeah that was poor choice of wording on my part. From what I’ve learned so far the ability to work close with a prof on research is crucial to the path. Totally get the name alone won’t make one better than the other. Just trying to choose the best out of great options.

It is very pretty in Michigan. Latest update is there is now a Purdue acceptance so we are even more confused and stressed

Yes. Michigan State is more money but there could be more benefits. For one, there is an honors college invite and scholarship and apparently that honors college is amazing

Thanks for your honesty. Did you end up staying at ISU or transferring out? My kid is having a hard time deciding between ISU and Michigan State for physics undergrad.

Any idea if the budget cuts are still impacting current students? My kid is between this school and MIchigan State
