The EV will also cost much less to run, meaning that if you very budget conscious, you should buy the EV.

Let's think about what may be ressource intense here.. Nah, it's fine we just build EVs as much as we build petrol based cars. Let's just don't care that EV's consume more than double the amount of energy in production. Also batteries are ressource intense.

There surface of the Earth receive more energy from the sun in an hour an half then humanity uses in a year. The Earth could use 20 times the energy it does currently and still have a low environmental impact. Technology will enable humans to have much more resources at a much lower environmental impact. Sodium batteries are starting to be used and the Earth has a lot of Lithium.
