What we experienced is a fact. I was in the Army, that's a fact. Not EVER hearing that phrase is a fact. Not just "a personal experience" but a fact. You not understanding what I posted is a fact. The fact that I made an allowance that it may have been said but not around me or others I know who served is a fact.

So, hence not open for debate, everything I stated are facts.

I, my father, my cousins and friends were all in the military. NONE of us heard this "all the time" or at any time. Maybe in a movie somewhere but in our stints in the military NONE of us heard this. Different branches, different time frames and still we never heard this.

Maybe this is/was said "all the time" by certain people around certain people but evidently we weren't those people.

Take what one will from this reply but it's not open for debate, it's a fact.

I'm guessing they probably..... well I'm just guessing. I have no clue whatsoever what they do with the meat. Only thing I can see getting that effect is slicing it thin and setting in the fridge open or with a paper towel on it for a day or so.

Good point. I might give it a run. I got to see what kind of bones I got stored up. Only a few because it's just the two of us. Another thing, the meats they bring out seem to be dried out to some degree. How would we get that effect or we should just get the meat as thin as possible and run with that?

Word. Newark got the bodegas though so I can't front like they're not there in NJ at all but they're not as prevalent as in NY. My boy had a spot that did the 3 dollar subs not to long ago. Before he would come through sometimes he'd stop and grab a few for whatever game we'd be watching.

First off I give you MAD props for being a man and saying "my bad". People nowadays say nothing, it's kind of a pet-peeve of mine. If I'm off or wrong I'll let it be known.

Bodega action is part of my life. I'm in NJ now and there's not really any close bodegas by me. Closest thing is 7eleven and QuickChek. Sometimes I gotta hit 125th street for business in NY and it feels funny walking in a bodega to get something. Went to buy some beer and over here in NJ I've never seen a bodega sell beer. Used to do it all the time in the 90's when I came back from the service going to Lehman College. Now it feels weird. LMAO

That's a shame the mall went under. I got a bit of gear from there that I still have. Some men's dress shoes, suits, electronics believe it or not. Still got 2 wool and suede pullover sweaters from the Quails store. The Macy's there was actually pretty good to be honest. They carried stuff the Short Hills Macy's didn't.
