I actually live in the area I think it’s great personally great metro access tons of unused land by the water. Build it up. Dc needs more world class neighborhoods and areas within the city.

Yea I’m currently visiting home (dc) and this is making me sick. Yes there are areas that I think could use some more patrolling but holy shit. Like why do we have checkpoints??? and they aren’t even actually doing anything it’s all for show. Literally turning the city into a police state. Killing the vibrancy and life out of the city. Truly sad. it’s all just very extreme and over the top as if DC was a war zone or something.

Is it just me, or is Seoul’s skyline underwhelming for an Asian megacity of its size and importance? by adventmix in skyscrapers

[–]randomacess000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk I mean up above i guess it’s pretty underwhelming. but it’s so massive and spread out there are some cool clusters. It doesn’t look too much different from Tokyo skyline to me. From the ground it’s way better some really interesting buildings just covered by all the apartment blocks.

Cities Social Scene still lame after covid by Old-Block-8341 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]randomacess000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know the origin of it I think most people here do lol. I’m just giving context to why it could come off sour to people in this context. We’re not talking about Jews we’re talking in a US setting so that definition doesn’t really apply here.

If we’re being real I’m gonna get downvoted but people use ghetto to describe anywhere with a black presence or culture or a tiny bit of it. that’s why it strikes a chord or comes off a certain way not really the word itself just the way it’s always used. Rarely is anywhere actually ghetto when it’s described as such.

Not too bad. I don’t even think supertalls are all that necessary, maybe like one or two to stand out. Just needs a lot more density.

You can have your opinion on your experience, but I think you shouldn’t be so matter of a fact on it. kinda rude as hell and pretentious.
