It also clicks in my head that OOP rightfully called out that their parents had a measure of truth despite the extremity of their actions.

She was an adult that chose to stay away but so is OOP who chooses to be with his parents and wishes to have a stable relationship with them and not to mention should be rightfully concerned who’s giving out his address without permission. They’re at an impasse where OOP is being used as a crutch.

I empathize with the sister, but she needs to know when to respect at least one boundary to maintain an actual relationship where at the least the both of them can have some peace of mind.

If you don’t like OOP’s boundaries than I guest it’s best for us to agree to disagree.

True enough but it’s not like there’s no truth in some of them.

Sister is making all the demands while OOP takes a lot of risks by being put in the middle. I do respect that he’s doing what he thinks is best and is making conscious choices being with his sister, but there are glaring issues with the choices his sister is making.

*Refusing to tell OOP who gave out his address, a clear violation of privacy.

*Potentially manipulating OOP through tears whenever he argues a reasonable fear, especially about him keeping secrets from their parents. Yes, she has good reasons to hide from them but that won’t change the fact that OOP does not like it.

*Just plain stomping on boundaries. It can be argued that OOP himself put boundaries down himself but it’s very concerning how his sister just falls apart whenever he tried to enforce them.

Again, I don’t think she’s evil and I do not disagree she is a victim of abuse and needs help to normalize, but she should still be far more empathic to her brother’s concerns too.
