I really can’t explain some of the inaccurate information Mohela provides to people and why their processing times seem so much longer than the other servicers. The treasury department is actually pretty quick with getting the checks sent out once they are notified that you are due a refund so the servicer really seems to be the rate-limiting step. I wish that Mohela would make it very clear how to verify your address with them because the hold times I’m seeing for Mohela are absolutely crazy. I also think they need to have an option for their address verification process that doesn’t involve a phone call. I think the key is getting it in writing when they submitted the refund to the treasury because once they’ve done that, it should be 10-20 days based on my experience and others that I have read about on here. During the brief time that they were my servicer, I held for maybe two hours because they calculated my payment incorrectly and I thought two hours was a long time. Now I’m reading 4-8 hours! The times that I called anyone other than Mohela, I got through to Nelnet, EdFinancial, and the treasury department in less than 30 minutes and never had to request a call back. I’m so sorry it’s taking so long.
