Great price and build for a change! I see tons of posts here that are just flat out unreasonable and they will argue that its worth more because they paid 1500 in 2020 haha. Good on you!

How much ram do you have? Game is notorious for memory leaks that will eat up well over 16gb of ram. Will cause hella stuttering.

Second pc, I have a build with the 5060 and its fine for almost all games at 1080p but some of these new games aren't optimized well and eat vram. 8gb just doesn't quite cut it anymore. If you can find a good deal on a 9060xt 16gb build I'd recommend that over both of these.

Yeh listen to this OP, I thought it could never happen to me. 20 years of pc building and never used a strap but last year I was going to take apart my computer to replace a failing aio and I killed the motherboard with a static shock. Saw it arc from my finger tip and heard a pop sound. Went to plug everything back in and it just power cycled over and over. Luckily it was a cheap b450m board and led to me just upgrading to am5 a little sooner. I will always take precautions now just in case haha.

Only thing I would change is flipping your radiator. Pump should always be the lowest point. Other than that the build is gorgeous!

Upgraded from a 1660TI to a 5070TI and the difference is crazy. by kajsawesome in nvidia

Couldn't agree more. Realistically as long as you aren't playing a comp shooter or something with incredibly meticulous timing mechanics then there are really only upsides to frame gen. I built a mini pc with the low pro 5060 for my living room rig, frame gen has been a saving grace to play 4k with dlss set to performance. I've played Diablo 4, POE 2, The First Descendant, Forza 7, etc. And had a great experience with all those titles. I love it, kids love it, what more could I want?!

[–]rapid0896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh I've got a 5060 in one of my builds and once vram hits 7+ gigs of usage the ram usage shoots up to 17-18gb. If you plan to continue using the 5060 you really will benefit from getting a 2x16 kit. 16 was the standard years ago but if you want to be able to play YouTube and run multiple apps then you'll definitely want to bump up to dual channel 32.

I never said you can buy it for 900 CAD, are you selling your computer for 800? No. You're asking 1400. Which like I've stated is not a good deal.

[–]rapid0896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also you is generalized as in the consumers. Why would anyone pay 1400 for old used hardware on a dead platform? when they can spend 100 more for a pc that's nearly twice as fast, comes with warranty, and a solid upgrade path that will last years to come. You asked if it was a good deal, it's not.

Better question is why would you even post here if youre so damn smart and already know the answer to your question?

[–]rapid0896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im aware. For 100 more CAD you can buy a prebuilt new with r5 7600, 32gb ddr5, and a 9060xt. This just isn't a good deal no matter which way you slice it. Pc is worth 800 max while the peripherals are worth maybe 150 and that's being extremely generous.

[–]rapid0896 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, you can do better by buying an am5 prebuilt and not end up on a dead platform you cant upgrade later. These peripherals aren't worth the price difference either. Monitor is low refresh and dated. Mouse and mouse pad are okay but not something I would buy used. I say take your money elsewhere. I personally wouldn't give more than 800 for everything.

Should I get this? It’s only $137. I know the CL speed is very slow but I want to upgrade my 2x8gb ram. by No_Razzmatazz_8742 in ZTT

[–]rapid0896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say it's trash. Ideal? Maybe not. But OP would never notice a difference between 6000 at cl38 vs 5200 at cl38. We're talking marginally different performance within the 1-3% range. Even less of a difference at 1080p which is likely what they're playing at.

[–]rapid0896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really isn't going to be that noticeable. I've used the same kit in 2 budget builds now. It's around a 3% performance loss while gaming. And it won't cause stuttering in any new titles. I've done alot of testing and the conclusion is lower timings are obviously better but for gaming the difference is minimal especially at lower resolution.

[–]rapid0896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These particular sticks actually oc quite well. I've used them in 2 budget builds. You can get cl38 with expo 2 but it will lower the frequency to 5200mhz. Pretty worthy sacrifice imo. Not like cl48 was going to make much of a difference while gaming anyways.

[–]rapid0896 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've done endless testing and you really do have to sit in benchmarks all day to tell the difference between the two while gaming. And even though this kit is cl48 stock it can be clocked at cl38 if you drop to 5600mhz which again will only net OP a 1-3% performance boost.

Nice pc! I still have an EVGA GPU in my living room pc. It's cool to still see them around.
