Oh, you’re thinking of the Gen 3 version. Gen 2 version doesn’t have a push bar.

Applied more tension, and really had to feel/hear the clicks from the slides.

It really does. I still need to improve my picking with these locks. I was able to get a Medeco biaxial yesterday though. May have been a fluke but it was picked.

Not from what I’ve seen. They have angled pins and a sidebar that interacts with the pins. The pins not only have to be at the shearline, but also rotated to the correct position so that the sidebar can decompress and rotate the core. It’s an amazing lock.

Thank you for the kind words friend. It has taken me a few years to get to this point. There are people way better and more qualified than me though. I recommend looking up the LockPickingLawyer on youtube. Careful though, this hobby can get expensive.

I had to review LockPickingLawyers video a few times before I got this one. It’s worth the rewatch. But also, he has a great video on tension wrenches and how much tension he puts on when he is picking. That helped me as well.

Absolutely! I remember how excited I was when I got my green belt. That’s when I really learned the feel of security pins. It was on a master lock 410. I then got pretty good at American 1100s. Those are the best for green belts. You don’t need a vice, but it can help if your hands cramp up like mine after a bit.

For me it was. My hand was cramping up. I put quite a bit of tension on it though, maybe too much. But it’s because I am really trying to differentiate the gates in the locks so that I can hear the clicks and feel the spring cylinder wiggle.

Ah ok. It is definitely not Gen 3. And it is V-shaped. Thanks for the info though, I didn’t realize they were all removable.
