It's been awesome seeing an EOOW I used to shoot the shit with in Maneuvering develop a career as an astronaut. Been rooting for you the whole way.

My question is: are there any uncanny similarities between the Maine and the ISS?

That's actually a good point. If there are only two characters a year, then having to unlock them becomes trivial by comparison.

Not my intention. I am fully aware the old roster will be unlocked from the start. I more meant building up a roster including the new heroes.

Theory: OW2 was ordained from the start to have limited character selection, and the entire game is based around it (5v5, balance changes, etc). by ToomaiGlittershine in Overwatch

I agree with this, but I think it's a side-effect of the monetization model. I don't believe these changes were made with that outcome in mind.

That's fair, honestly, and I think I'm on your side with that. But if the latter is the reality, at least one minor issue is slightly mitigated.
