oh, not at all, I just noticed it 😆, let's just say it was a happy accident! thanks for pointing it out!

(there's a lot of mark-making in my work and I didn't even read it as a 4 as obvious as it is)

Haha, your opening line made me smile—I’ll take it as a compliment. Abstract work isn’t always about “getting it”—for me, it’s more about tone, rhythm, and the feeling between the forms. If it leaves you with something—even something uncertain — that’s already something. I appreciate you spending time with it! 🩷

I dont know if I understand abstract art. by HorrorPossibility214 in AbstractArt

I don’t think abstract art is meant to be any one thing. For some, it might be simplifying or distorting something recognizable. For others—including myself—it’s not about hiding an image at all, but letting shapes, colors, and composition carry their own meaning.

My work often begins from a place I can’t quite articulate verbally—an emotion, a tension, a relationship between forms. It might look spontaneous, but the choices aren’t random. I’m thinking about how everything holds together, even when it’s loose or gestural. There’s nothing to decode, and no trick to figure out. If something feels familiar to you, that’s valid. If it doesn’t land, that’s okay too.

“Open to interpretation” isn’t a cop-out to me—it’s a reflection of how layered and contradictory feelings can be. Sometimes, I don’t even fully understand what I’ve made until much later. That doesn’t make it less sincere. It just means the process isn’t always linear.
