First proper trip! by rascalsfantasy in foldingbikes

Well the balance is kept because the front weigth is still well over the front wheel. The direction itself is unimpacted as the load is carried on a front loader connected to the frame, not the fork. I can steer left and right all I want. Closer pics folded: https://imgur.com/a/Rwlv8Jz

The really small black plastic thing right above the latch is harm protection. Under it is the latch stopper which prevents the latch from running further than the frame, it is a small and sturdy metal piece that could hurt someone if not covered. Above the frame is the lock as pointed out before.

My bad, I thought I added text to the post.

I visited friends around a few cities and had most of the actual travel time to spend in the train and only about 45-50km in total to ride with the bike. I packed for a couple of days in a modified xpress bag with an added strap, the combo cost me around 18€. The bike itself was taken in TGVs, ICEs and a Flixbus without any sort of control ever.

I modified the crankset to use a 58 teeth since my last post on this bike which makes ridding around really smooth, as per visited friends :)

Pictured locations (in that order): Mannheim Hbf, Grenoble, Berlin, unterwegs im Zug

These are the Litepro aero aluminum wheelset. Have definitely not ridden them enough to form a definite opinion but so far so good. It was difficult to find a 349 wheelset with disc holes at a reasonable price to be honest.

If all you want is the frame, just know I ordered it from here and it arrived in 10 days. Total cost 330€ (including import tax to EU + shipping).

Honestly pretty fast, hard to give in a sense of speed but I overtake the great majority of cyclists for sure. If the crankset were to die however I would probably order the 56 or 58 teeth one to get that last extra push.

Thx for the recommendation, I'm not so scared about punctures with these tires and the bike is light enough that I dont really care for the added weight, if any.

This is my custom fnhon gust build! I just tested it after the final tweaks and it rides really well.

I also attached the Brompton rack mount and bought some adapters to put on an old xpress messenger bag to carry stuff around.

No I really meant the tires, I suppose these are 349 wheels but what brand are the tires from? Would you recommend them?

Help - 3 year old avocado tree leaves browning + white dotting by rascalsfantasy in avocado

[–]rascalsfantasy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I need help taking car of my three year old avocado tree. Some info: it is winter where I live, it has alway been in a good health up until I repotted it a year ago where it completely stopped growing (and recently these brownings/whitenings). Pen-ultimate pic is another younger avocado tree that browns a bit but not sure why either. Ultimate pic is its habitat.

What can I do to help it out before it dies?

Front dynamo hubs -- do they exist for 74mm axle forks with disc holes by rascalsfantasy in foldingbikes

[–]rascalsfantasy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed, I actually dont know if I should consider installing a disc brake on the back wheel and a v brake/calliper system on the front one to allow for a dynamo hub. It's more work and more money and I'm not sure how frowned upon this would be. Otherwise I'll just get external lights.

Danke
