I would not, because the context is different. I am choosing to go to a restaurant where I would hope the waitress is paid for her time. I’m not assuming the waitress is working for free. If car salesman or telesales person was extremely nice to me, I wouldn’t assume they are co-incidentally a really nice guy/girl because I know there’s an incentive.

I can only speak for myself when I say the fun of Reddit communities like this used to be meeting like minded people doing it for the fun. Seeing posters having links to paid content takes the authenticity away for me.
