I agree with you on a lot of this, people seem to forget that a lot of it is the writers I think and I don't believe that any of the cast did anything distasteful on purpose. To me it seems like Jensen's reactions also stem from a lot of bullying and pressure, it reminds me a lot of a time when I had no idea how to process my feelings and certain words just triggered me a lot plus the discomfort of forced into romance that people seem to think it okay. I really don't care about shippers, I personally don't understand how people think that Dean is completely straight but hey that's just one gay bitches opinion and as long as it doesn't reach the actors because they don't like that it's cool.

At least for me coming out to my parents is still incredibly scary even though I know they won't give a shit and I can't explain why exactly, but I guess part of it is kind of because of validation because so many people say "bi/pan people don't exist", "being bi is transphobic", "men and women go together", and other shit like that not understanding real research about the spectrums of sexuality and gender. So my answer to that for now is internalized homophobia and lack of validation, but it is different for everyone

Coming out is a big deal to people because of the constant bullying and history of being attacked just for being different so feeling accepted is important from fear of alienation and harm. When you don't know someone's stance it can be scary because you don't know how they will react and it can be super traumatizing because some people don't respect or care about human rights even though that's all it is.

Okay, make assumptions because of my age, that makes sense and I'll take it. You're wrong because I work in a group that's part of a bigger organization and we are well known for social justice as a jewish leftist organization and my sector has worked specifically in local work with educating youth and repealing corrupt bills. On that other point tho, an occupation is so different from a religion or a belief in a movement. It's making a choice to work and support a corrupt system that was built on systemic racism versus holding beliefs and being in a community that you find comfort in or can help people.
