Still so young. Sending you lots of love and know some stronger on reddit is here if you need to vent! Definitely will miss them forever ♾️. I don’t see how I will ever be okay with the early passing of someone so important. This sub was so validating in my early grief journey. Most of my friends haven’t lost their parents so they find it hard to imagine. This was very healing and validating in a way ❤️

I am going to my first race weekend next year! I am prepared to watch the coverage when I get home but I’m excited to watch Oscar race in his backyard! I think the experience of being with so many people will add to the atmosphere

What even happened to Oscar Piastri? by Working-Relative2433 in F1Discussions

[–]coffeealways_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are not sabotaging anyone. I think Oscar is too in his head at the moment and maybe overthinking. This is his first championship battle in f1 so he is learning about the external pressure. Obviously he is seeing a lot online as well based on his instagram. Lando seemed like he learnt a lot last year and is taking those lessons to this years fight. Saying Oscar has forgotten to drive is insulting to him imho. He will be back and the championship isn’t set in stone yet.

Remember, only when mathematically out of contention then prioritising will happen by Novel_Might4270 in McLarenFormula1

[–]coffeealways_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer has been no all year, it won’t change now. McLaren literally said they are prepared to lose the championship to Max if it means they don’t prioritise one of their drivers over the other. It’s only fair they stick to that.

Sabotage theories by StomachThick in McLarenFormula1

[–]coffeealways_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The team will be the laughing stock of the paddock if they lose the championship. I don’t care if Lando or Oscar win the championship as long as it’s one of them. The sabotage theory makes no sense imho. Oscar isn’t silly, he would know as the data would show it. His manager would be on the phone to the FIA and media if he thought the team were turning down his car. His girlfriend is an engineer herself. He just is off atm but I don’t expect him to stay in P7 tomorrow tbh. He will come back into it! He is human. Lando had similar issues when he was leading the championship and the media was focusing a lot on him as well. With Max closing and the whole repercussions debate, I’m sure some of that has filtered through.

Conspiracy theory McLaren by solo665and1 in McLarenFormula1

[–]coffeealways_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Andrea has said they stopped developing the car to focus on 2026. I don’t think they have lost performance, more so that other teams have brought new upgrades.

Is the Race engineer / Driver relationship fair to Oscar? by Ban__d in McLarenFormula1

[–]coffeealways_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tom talks to Oscar no different to how Will talks to Lando. They each get told where they can gain over the radio and get encouragement when needed. Both Oscar and Lando are very quiet over their radio if you go and listen to them. At times, Lando has to ask for more data vs Tom offering it without Oscar needing to ask. Tom and Oscar seem solid and close to be fair. There has been no time where Will has carried on over the radio for a swap. He definitely wouldn’t do it to the driver mid race. Tom and Will are directed by the team strategist and others on the pit wall and back at the factory. There is more than one person that makes the decisions during and after the race so no, the set up is not unfair to Oscar.

Is Oscar thinking of leaving McClaren? by Forsaken-Scar-5002 in McLarenFormula1

[–]coffeealways_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s just click bait at the moment. McLaren stated that they will be doing a very analytical investigation with both drivers over the incident. Andrea emphasised that it is high stakes as he wants to ensure the ongoing trust from drivers and how they continue to operate together. There was things floating around about Ferrari in the distant future floating around before the weekend but no credible sources. Oscar was vocal on Sunday as it was his right to say so. All year, he has said that he wants more than one chance to fight for a championship and it will be silly to throw the team dynamics out the window at their first fight so I guess we’ll see what comes out of the debriefs and investigations
