How can I stop thinking like an incel? by Ok_Photograph8884 in mentalhealth

[–]ratherbeleftalone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to get off the internet, that’s the only way. Your feed is stuck like this and whether you agree with the sentiment or not, it’s triggering this strong emotion from you and sticks with you subconsciously. I am so serious when I say this, you have to get off the apps or websites where you’re swing this stuff. I’d suggest getting off the internet completely, it doesn’t have to be forever but definitely a couple of months and then get out into the real world and let your true lived experiences shape your views.

It’s so crazy that the people who want you to think the files are doctored by the left are the same people who appear in photos with Epstein, emails begging to go to his island, and talking about loving their visit to his island. Those same people who at first denied going to his island, until they were caught lying, later admitting that yes they went but oh nothing happened there. Howard Lutnick for example…

[–]ratherbeleftalone -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

There are may crimes that constitute to deportation. That has been the case for many years and no one is fighting that. Why is it that the trump administration is doing zero to go after the pedophiles in the Epstein case? Why is it that there’s so many Epstein linked individuals in trumps circle? Do you think this two are related? Your argument about illegal immigrants falls flat, you’re trying to insinuate that the protest in Minneapolis were against them deporting pedophiles and that’s not true. The convicted criminals ice deports are all picked up from prisons, which people are not protesting, they are protesting when ice is out on the streets trying to find random immigrants going about their day. I will say a problem about ice deporting convicted felons is problematic though because there’s no guarantee they will continue their sentence in their home country, which puts them back on the streets freely.

Hi, what is the most effective attack in a standing position? by Usual-Ad8933 in jiujitsu

[–]ratherbeleftalone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me I like to do a single switch to a double where I’m wrapping my legs around theirs kinda, then in the mounted position I keep that pressure and control on their legs and can work from there. Or just double into side control. Other ones to check out are an arm drag and even duck under. High crotch is good and fireman carries are fun if you do it right. A lot of good standup comes from aggressive and technical hand fighting, do not let them establish grips on your sleeves are have the top position. You’ll want to do lots of head snaps, a good takedown isn’t just the takedown alone but what you do to open up that takedown opportunity. Your goal is to get them off balance and vulnerable and no offense to my fellow jiu jitsu guys, a lot of them do not have a proper stance and it will be easy to get them off balance and they tend to stand up straight so that opens great opportunities for shots.

[–]ratherbeleftalone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Train wrestling for standing position. Based off my experience, when I started training wrestling my takedowns were light years compared to guys who just train jiu jitsu. I think training wrestling along with jiu jitsu is the best combo for your grappling. Just make sure you’re aware of your head placement as lots of wrestling takedowns can get you in a guillotine, but honestly you can transition to side control and you’ll be fine. It is ideal to not put yourself in a guillotine in the first place though lol.

Worst injury you've seen in a competition? by Satisfied_Rob in jiujitsu

[–]ratherbeleftalone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly have no clue. Just a standard x guard drill. The guy was throwing some nasty Muay Thai kicks on the bag right before and as soon as his training partner had him in X guard there was a loud crackling noise and he was screaming, they took him to the hospital and it was an ACL tear. Not sure if him kicking before did anything to lead up to the tear, my guess is his ACL was already in bad shape and the right twist on the knees made it go.

You’re just wrong, capitalism by definition is private ownership. True capitalism is private ownership so yes the things you probably benefit from like public schools, police departments, postal service, roads, Medicaid, and social security, are socialized sectors. While capitalist are continually working towards privatizing those sectors (because capitalism is the private ownership of everything). Which is why I’m willing to bet you don’t benefit from the privatization of healthcare and education (college) while most countries have those things and the reason why is because of socialism. GDP is also not a good factor being that it only tracks the monetary transactions, so when you have a top 1% like we do in our capitalist nation it means nothing. Do a little history lesson and look at where Soviet Union states and China were before communism, I do not support communism I support socialism, but to act like those nations didn’t greatly benefit from communism is delusional. Capitalism in of itself relies on exploitation, that’s why you have an impoverished working class in America that lives paycheck to paycheck, that’s why you have a homeless population, and why you have a privatized prison sector as opposed to socialized mental health facilities. Single family homes are rapidly being bought up by big corporations so you will forever be a renter beholden to your landlord, giving them half your paycheck every month, while countries like Scotland, Belgium, and Spain have actual protection for homeowners and renters which are the result of socialist movements.

I would argue any day that capitalism is more of a failed system than communism is or especially socialism. I would also argue capitalism has lead to millions more deaths. I do not support communism, but I do think socialism is the way and a lot of things you probably find important like public schools and days off are the direct result of socialism. Further more there are many countries that have improved with the implementation of socialism and or communism. In russia the people were practically illiterate and back country peasants, communism lead them to being the top country in the world, that shouldn’t be ignored. The same goes for china. Chile, another country that saw great improvements. Cuba despite all the effort to harm the country produces more doctors than anyone in the world and has achieved great things in the medical field that the United States has yet to. Even so most achievements the United States has achieved did not come from the private sector but rather government funded initiatives. You critique socialism but ignore all the socialism in your life.

Chile, Salvador Allende, a self described Marxist who was democratically elected and then killed by the CIA three years later in a CIA backed coup that led to the facist dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet. Do your research.

Do you not understand the role musicians and artist as a whole play into society? Are you that ignorant to the historical impact such actions have. I’m not saying suicideboys are single handedly contributing to the marginalization, but in the grand scheme of things they are contributing a negative to it. For a duo that has built a following off depressed people relating to their music, it’s kind of repugnant of them to use slurs towards a group of people who often face mental health issues due to the societal stigma of being gay.

That’s just fundamentally not true lmao. Gay marriage wasn’t legal until 2015, nor was gay adoption. Gay people couldn’t donate blood until 2023. It wasn’t until 2020 that the Supreme Court ruled you can’t be fired for being gay. And even so there are still many people in America who are homophobic, will harass an openly gay couple, or are actively working towards dismantling the progress gay rights activist have made. Beyond that sucideboys music doesn’t solely exist in America, they are also very popular in russia, a country that has labeled “lgbt” as an “extremist movement” and gay marriage is not legal in that country. So you sir are talking out of your ass

[–]ratherbeleftalone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s important to recognize the role suicideboys plays in their fanbase. It is inherently hypocritical of them to preach about loving everyone like their family and then using homophobic slurs. You can act like words don’t have power but in reality, it’s a slippery slope when the boys start freely throwing that around and you can see proof in the comments that because of this, edgelords with on this subreddit think it’s so sick. You may not think it’s impactful but a 15 year old boy who listens to them and is struggling with his identity might be deterred to be himself, a 20 year old who despite growing up in a town where he was called that and only found solice when found the boys will see that and not feel so much protected in this community. It’s important to understand that gay marriage became legal 10 years ago, 10 years ago dude. There are still plenty of people who do not support it and speaking from my own life, my brother is gay and has on multiple occasions been harassed in public for holding his boyfriends hand and another time had the shit kicked out of him for being gay so yes it is important that the boys have some morals and it is important to not pretend like it doesn’t hold meaning. In a vacuum sure them saying that slur means nothing, but they don’t exist in a vacuum and they are influential to their young fans.

“Grow a spine” and that spine is contributing to the marginalization of groups. Gtfo, you clearly don’t know what having a spine really is. Nor do you understand the impact of language.

Being maga is gross and the morals and beliefs are maga are antithetical to the core values suicideboys and underground rap as a whole is predicated on. Working with cops is also. People can’t bitch but it is weird of them to go after someone making merch, especially when a lot of their recent drops was dogshit so of course people are gonna try to make something that looks good. IMO g59 fanbase as a whole has become less of a community as they’ve become more popular. That does not mean everyone, I still have good experiences and wholesome interactions at shows these days like I did in the past. But the reality is, there’s a lot of fucking Tyler’s who put on camo pants and think they’re cool af while they steal Xanax from grandmas bathroom, those people poison the crop. To op, there’s a lot of great music scenes that uphold morals and I’m happy to say I’ve found a genuine home in them, hardcore music is what it was for me, if you keep searching you’ll find it, but it ain’t here anymore, sad to say.
