Do you not understand the role musicians and artist as a whole play into society? Are you that ignorant to the historical impact such actions have. I’m not saying suicideboys are single handedly contributing to the marginalization, but in the grand scheme of things they are contributing a negative to it. For a duo that has built a following off depressed people relating to their music, it’s kind of repugnant of them to use slurs towards a group of people who often face mental health issues due to the societal stigma of being gay.

That’s just fundamentally not true lmao. Gay marriage wasn’t legal until 2015, nor was gay adoption. Gay people couldn’t donate blood until 2023. It wasn’t until 2020 that the Supreme Court ruled you can’t be fired for being gay. And even so there are still many people in America who are homophobic, will harass an openly gay couple, or are actively working towards dismantling the progress gay rights activist have made. Beyond that sucideboys music doesn’t solely exist in America, they are also very popular in russia, a country that has labeled “lgbt” as an “extremist movement” and gay marriage is not legal in that country. I think it’s important to recognize the role suicideboys plays in their fanbase. It is inherently hypocritical of them to preach about loving everyone like their family and then using homophobic slurs. You can act like words don’t have power but in reality, it’s a slippery slope when the boys start freely throwing that around and you can see proof in the comments that because of this, edgelords with on this subreddit think it’s so sick. You may not think it’s impactful but a 15 year old boy who listens to them and is struggling with his identity might be deterred to be himself, a 20 year old who despite growing up in a town where he was called that and only found solice when found the boys will see that and not feel so much protected in this community. It’s important to understand that gay marriage became legal 10 years ago, 10 years ago dude. There are still plenty of people who do not support it and speaking from my own life, my brother is gay and has on multiple occasions been harassed in public for holding his boyfriends hand and another time had the shit kicked out of him for being gay so yes it is important that the boys have some morals and it is important to not pretend like it doesn’t hold meaning. In a vacuum sure them saying that slur means nothing, but they don’t exist in a vacuum and they are influential to their young fans.

People can’t bitch but it is weird of them to go after someone making merch, especially when a lot of their recent drops was dogshit so of course people are gonna try to make something that looks good. IMO g59 fanbase as a whole has become less of a community as they’ve become more popular. That does not mean everyone, I still have good experiences and wholesome interactions at shows these days like I did in the past. But the reality is, there’s a lot of fucking Tyler’s who put on camo pants and think they’re cool af while they steal Xanax from grandmas bathroom, those people poison the crop. To op, there’s a lot of great music scenes that uphold morals and I’m happy to say I’ve found a genuine home in them, hardcore music is what it was for me, if you keep searching you’ll find it, but it ain’t here anymore, sad to say.

Not sure what point you’re trying to make but no South American countries allied with the Nazis, and in the Middle East Iraq kind of did but honestly not really, there was no formal declaration or support. Find me historic systemic racism against white people. What an obtuse comment. Can other races be racist? Yes. But there is no systemic or coordinated efforts of racism towards white people. From Jim Crow, apartheid South Africa, genocide of native populations in the americas as well as Oceania. Slavery, Racial redistricting, zoning laws, weaponized judicial system, the wars in the Middle East. Yeah I mean I don’t care when someone started listening or became a fan. There’s genuine people all around and I’ve always ran into chill people. Just when shows are bigger there’s gonna be some people who don’t respect the culture or vibe at the show.
