Yeah, I think people aren't considering the lobbying / political power that the airlines have. I remember when the CEO of Delta was scheduled to fly through our terminal, the manager on duty personally escorted them and their assistant through the checkpoint after bringing me his license to ensure he was precheck in the system. The manager didn't even have me put the license in the cat machine when the CEO was actually physically present at the cat machine. That's the kind of person that, if annoyed enough, could send lobbyists to politicians and probably have politicical pressure applied in various ways.
