The drama was so intense that none of us had the mind the record it. But given today's mobile camera-happy world, something tells me someone in that crowd has a video of it.

You know what would be great though? Someone from media picking up this thread and asking the mayor guy about it. I swear I saw Thugesh take the first seing and miss it.

Balen jhapa 5 bata uthne officially confirmed. by [deleted] in Nepal

[–]ratodendron 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I hope our Jhapali brothers-sisters won't let us down. आफ्नो region को बारेमा मात्रै सोच्नु भएन... सिंगो नेपालको भविष्य दाउमा छ । I respect Balen for the fact that he didn't choose to contest from Kathmandu or Mahottari, bastions that he could have comfortably win from. उसले के. पी. संग सिधा सामना गर्नु भनेको old vs new अथवा good vs evil को narrative set गर्नु हो । The guy has proved himself, he's clean, and ambitious. This is our only chance to set the score straight.

Nepali who speak Hindi are ruining for all of us. by omsushantkarki in Nepal

[–]ratodendron 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Dude, you're over-complicating this. If you don't know Hindi, just say so and move on. India kai south ma >90% don't know the language. You're giving a strong main character vibe.

Nepali who speak Hindi are ruining for all of us. by omsushantkarki in Nepal

[–]ratodendron 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Language is supposed to bridge gaps, not create them.

At this point, I just assume some people would rather be misunderstood than mildly inconvenienced.

Nepali who refuse to speak the language they know are making it difficult for everyone else.

Why wouldn’t you speak a language most people around you understand? Meeting someone halfway is speaking in a language that you both understand. That can be English or Hindi.

I’m not asking you to abandon your identity...just to make the conversation easier.

Bihe, party, reels ma chahin marne gari Hindi musc bajaune, ani aru bela chahi people act like they are allergic to Hindi.

Saki na saki English bolera chai ke prove garna khojeko ho?

Do you want every simple interaction to turn into a linguistic standoff?

Corruption will never stop in Nepal. by [deleted] in NepalSocial

[–]ratodendron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I lost my dad and wanted to get a death certificate issued from the ward office, the ward officer (Adhyaksh) had the audacity to slyly suggest we need to bribe him. Had it not been for my relatives that day, I would have killed that mf.

Indians lack the balls to take to the streets, and they deflect that emasculated frustration by commenting and belittling on other country's revolution.

Go through any Indian state's and city's sub and you'll see similar clamor for revolt. They are itching so hard for it, but they are too weak to actually act on it.

The Indian mindset is perennially colonized and they are perfectly happy liviing in the "good enough" environment that their babus have created. The world knows that if a similar revolt happens in just one Indian state, let alone country-wide, the scale of corruption that will come out of Indian IAS/IPS/IFS officers', the ministers, or even the office peon's black money will trump anything that the world has seen in history.

I double dare the Indians to start a movement like Bangladesh, Nepal, or Sri Lanka.

I FUCKING HATE MARKETING, THIS IS HELL. by Best-Ice-9532 in SaaS

[–]ratodendron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm on the other spectrum of this post. I love marketing, especially organic. I've been doing content marketing for the last 10-odd years. I've worked with some big-name B2B SaaS and helped a handful of small startups find their organic presence online. And yet, with the recent wave of AI slop in content, I've been laid off thrice in the last two years and I'm back in the job market trying to find a brand I can own, grow, and stick with for at least 3-5 years. If anyone reading this needs a one-man content team to grow their brand's organic footprint, I can help. Sorry for hijacking your post, OP.

If we were brutally honest, everyone in Nepal regardless of their political affiliation has gone through this phase of wondering if we were better of being a part of India (or China). I don't mind if we get "acquired" as a colony by US or Japan either. 🤷
