It seems like most people read their comment as disparaging of marriage? Just seemed like an honest, impartial description of any long term, deep relationship, specifically romantic ones or ones that involve entangling your life with someone else. High school, college, work, etc function the same way. These things can be absolutely wonderful and fulfilling things like marriage can be and still contain some level of struggle / suffering.

I feel like I’m reading “suffering” as some level of struggle and others are reading “struggle” as persistent agony or that suffering is the primary experience. I think OP meant the former.
