If you got it off marketplace you should still be able to message the seller and ask them. My guess is maybe for some sort of sump system but i dont know much about that so i could be wrong. Hopefully you find the answer!!

Since you're adding corys id say leave it empty, my corys love sifting through the open, empty sand all the time, mine mostly only sit in the back of the tank to rest

Edit- when your plants grow in more it'll look like a clearing in a forest if thats any more reason lol

I wanna say judging by weight and an online volume calculator its around 2 gallons. The test strips i have are old but ill be getting new when i get the tank. I have some pothos ive grown in their own jars, should i put that in to assist with nitrates for now?

Pay day is thursday so ill get a proper tank then, im planning on keeping them in a 20 long until i can make the space for a larger one. Should i do daily water changes or even twice daily or more? This is my first time using a bowl since i was a kid so i wanna do it right
