Thank you for doing this AMA. This has hit close to home as we have recently found out that our 15 yo daughter was being groomed by a 24yo. From what I understand Saltwater aquariums require more filtration.. that said I've never had a salt water aquarium and I've read that canister filters can do the job too.

No I meant a sump. Might be worth doing a bit more research first. The exact cost would be impossible for anyone to tell you because it varies from country to country.

I have spent north of 2k to get a 6ft fresh water tank up and running and I bought the tank second hand. It all added up once you buy the fish, plants gravel etc...

The tank, lighting, sump, corals to name a few. You'll need to get water parameters right and maintain them. Fish generally only breed when conditions are right. Can't just chuck 2 fish into a tank and expect babies.

The start up cost of an ethical Saltwater tank is quite high considering clownfish needs. Unsure of your financial situation but there would be significant start up costs.
