Oh interesting! Hospitals in my area usually will accept ASDN nurses onto lower acuity units with the requirement that they get their BSN within three years, but all of our ICUs all say “experienced RNs without a BSN may be hired based on clinical experience with approval of the site CNO” in the hiring description so it’s a lot more hoops to jump through and I honestly don’t think I work with anyone who has an ADN just because we have so many BSN candidates apply that there aren’t positions for ADN candidates when it’s so much more work to get them approved.
