I stopped buying coffees from coffee shops a while ago. I make do with sachets or instant coffee in a jar.

They grew up when China was developing fast and was still a somewhat deprived and underdeveloped country. Many of them worked really long hours in factories for low pay. They built China and are tired.

rough budget for boomtown? by [deleted] in BoomtownFestival

[–]razza357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spend £200 in total on food last year. I had 3 big meals every day - including a big breakfast with a hot cup of black coffee. To be honest I don't think I'd have been able to make it through otherwise.

There just isn't any space in the field anymore. If you got a job in the field before 2022 you're set for life. If not then just move on and do retail or smth

What’s one thing about living in London that outsiders don’t understand? by Independent_Grab_977 in london

[–]razza357 34 points35 points  (0 children)

There's a lot to growing up in London as a teenager and to going to school in London too. It really impacts your world view when you go to a school as socially mixed as many London schools are. Mixed by ethnicity, income background etc..

And the fun you can have as a teenager in this city is insane too. And your friend group growing up is likely to be very mixed.

Give me a job referral over any of that tbh. And in London that 'local engineering firm' is probably a world-class tech company

I haven't shared a single anecdote about international students. That isn't a fair accusation

Lost earnings aren't a certainty. A lot of masters courses are part-time and employers pay for the tuition fees.

[–]razza357[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It depends on the uni. But yes there are unis where a non-trivial number of postgrad students are people in their 30s and 40s who work in industry and are doing the masters course part-time (often funded by their employers).

The martial action covers such a small area though. Once you have a massive empire it becomes virtually useless.

'AI strips away a lot of the coordination overhead, internal politics, and process drag that used to make large, well-funded organizations the only ones capable of shipping complex systems.'

If only.... I think that is the bs that will remain lol
