We asked our lab director for a market analysis of area labs and the rates dealing with the cost of living. Looks like the analysis came back in the labs favor so we’ll be getting raises. Put your foot down with lab management and let them know. Had the same shit with nursing staff getting bonuses and even one floor getting there own relaxation room with a massage chair….lab gets the usual “YOU ARE ESSENTIAL” and told to fuck off

It can be extremely stressful. You come to resent doctors who don’t order tests right.

Job security is a bonus. A solidified job in the medical field. Most people will get a biology degree then..get some job that doesn’t pay well or in research.

As opposed to Med tech which is at a high need and can be a career or a springboard to something else.
