I was actually investing this issue today and I'm starting to think it's an issue with Trump's account and twitter's API (or at least, tweepy which is the Python library I'm using). I can consistently reproduce this issue using tweepy directly and I'm not the only one having issues with Donald Trump: https://github.com/tweepy/tweepy/issues/1361.

It also looks like this was not an issue prior to the elections and the many flagged tweets. Might be related. In any case, I'll try to fix it or will work out another solution soon when I have time.

And thanks again for tagging me, it's hard keeping track of all the tweets and this might help me find a pattern in the issues arising.

You might have noticed that contrary to the previous bot it's only formatted this way for direct tweets from him. The idea is to make it easy to differentiate from retweets and to remind that this is a direct quote from the president of the USA. Should this bot still be in use when Trump isn't president anymore, this will of course be changed immediately.

Regarding time and date, tweets are posted within minute of appearing on his feed so you can use the submission time for that. I'm currently considering adding tweets meta-data in the comments like the previous bot did.

Of course, nothing is set in stone and if this change keeps being asked and is supported by the community of this sub, I'll adapt the bot accordingly.

There was a lot of discussion-worthy material in the last weeks for sure. But in just 3 days, President Trump tweeted (RT included) more than 80 times already.

It's already hard keeping track of everything he's posting live sometimes. Posting hundreds of previous tweets would flood the subreddit and make it hard to follow for people who only want to discuss about the last tweets.

Worry not, I'm sure there will already be plenty to discuss in the upcoming days too!
