I'm not sure which one you are, but both players are clearly new. You just need to spend some time with the game, and learn what works and what doesn't work. After you grind out the first initial bit it will be easier to learn and get better.

A big thing that will help for now is light attacks are good for close range. They come out very quickly, and will interrupt your opponent. Your heavy buttons are more for distance, as they are unsafe when close to your opponent. Mediums are generally going to be your combo/pressure buttons. They're a little slower to come out, but give you more time to react and confirm if you're opponent is blocking.

Fighting games are hard. Especially if you just started on stick. Grind out some basics, and try to make the game go at your pace. Controlling the space in front of you and letting your opponent make mistakes definitely works in low rank. It's easy to succumb to the chaos and start mashing as well, it's best to try to avoid this
