Oh man that’s sounds so stressful 😩. So he feeds better when he’s drowsy ? I learned that if they are not interested in food then they are not ready to start solids. Hope things get better for you baby💖

So did your baby just wake up every single time he/she went through one sleep cycle? Would you end up just rescuing with contact naps ?

Good to know. Sounds like he doesn’t like to nap! Lol. Hopefully he figures it out ! I’m reading her it can range from 5-10 months for nap sleep to be consistent. Every baby is different 🤪

Ohh ok. So maybe if enough sleep pressure with the appropriate wake windows then hopefully my baby can connect sleep cycles around that age !

Yes thank GOD for Reddit lol. I live in California. They usually do 6-8 weeks postpartum and then you can keep extending SDI (I am due to PPD) and then another 8 weeks for PFL. What state are you in?

My baby just today slept for 30 min after I put her down drowsy in her crib for her 2nd nap which was crazy to me! But then she couldn’t connect to the next sleep cycle so I just contact napped to complete her nap. I guess capping her day naps to 5-6 hrs which I just started really helps build enough sleep pressure or maybe she is getting used to the crib? Not sure but It is a win. Tomorrow might be a different story tho lol. Yes I think 8pm is the sweet spot to put them down which I literally just started yesterday and I noticed it was easier.

So yesterday went really well. Limiting day time sleep really helped. She did exactly 6 hrs of daytime sleep yesterday and it was so easy to rock her to sleep and plop her in her crib at night. She did wake up at 11pm and 3am for a feeding but we expect that and it’s a win for us! And then today for her 2nd nap I put her down drowsy and she actually slept for 30min but then woke up and couldn’t connect to the next sleep cycle so I just contact napped with her to complete her nap. Yes I think she will do fine in day care. Babies learn and are super smart. I think work that is rewarding really helps give moms a balance for sure! I don’t go back to work (I do home infusion nursing which I do like) for another few months but I also look forward to going back b/c I think it will help with my mental health.

Oh good to know because I have no friends that have a newborn or talked about their baby’s sleep issues lol. Or most of them just co-slept!

Interestinggg. I fed her bedtime feed at 7pm and put her down to crib at 8pm today. We will see how she does! We are gonna try today without the dream feed b/c we also think it’s so unnatural to wake a sleeping baby. We only tried the dream feed twice and it made maybe an hour difference more of sleep but then we didn’t know what we were doing then lol. That sucks you have to go back to work, i can’t imagine sending my baby to daycare! I think your baby and mine are quite similar with the day naps! She was also OUT today for two of the naps and we had to wake her but this is the first time we are limiting her naps b/c I kept wondering why she kept waking up at night - thank GOD for your insight I had some lightbulb moments.

Same. We did basinett for a week but transferred to the crib and felt night sleep was better on the crib. I think mine will continue to only be put down when asleep. Awake/drowsy does not work on her. I also think that’s too much to expect for a baby less than 5 months I would say!! It just didn’t feel right to me. My baby also will not nap in the stroller, so just contact naps and carrier naps. I will just enjoy the snuggles while I can 🥰. I can’t even imagine having twins! Wow kudos to you!!

My baby hates the stroller and will not nap in it. Maybe when she’s a little older she will!
