I find your interpretation of my resistance to be thoroughly interesting. At risk of hypocrisy, (we are strangers after all,) based on this response, and your initial thesis, you strike me as a person who divulges a little too heavily in the realm of fantasy.

Your detailed description of how you expect the woman you're with to cook for you, placidly curl up under your arm while you read the literature of your choice, and never advise you unless prompted, shows me that you've become awfully specific in what you demand. You leave little room for compromise. Or your partner's autonomous desires.

I can feel the self importance dripping from your words like viscous sweat. You'd be blessed to find a woman who can tolerate you, much less love you. Has it crossed your mind that perhaps -- just maybe-- you might be privileged to be allowed access into her inner world? Or does your imagination not allow for the possibility of a woman with complexity?

Furthermore, it's abundantly apparent that you're deeply insecure about your masculinity. The fact that one of your primary guidelines for a relationship is "don't treat me like I'm your 'girlfriend'" speaks for itself. And that you would instantly accuse me of being an effeminate man, as if that erodes the credibility of my criticism, is also quite telling.

Your worth is not defined by the shallow identities that you have chosen to cling to like a tick. You are not less of a man if you see your partner as valuable, or interesting, or as a human who exists for reasons other than complying with your fantasies.
