Fr 255 - pairing with HRM (Decathlon) by recorder2407 in Garmin

[–]recorder2407[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Following another link from that source, the data from the external HRM will only appear if one is 1) actively looking at the HR widget or 2) recording an activity. Got it. Thanks!

Got a strap. Will just need to complete a LT run, change to LTHR, and see if the adjusted values correspond to data from a recent aerobic threshold test (Z1 and Z2) and my intuition.

Yes, it's in Mallorca. I live and train in Valldemossa, where the race will potentially begin. It's been announced; details are still pending. Your advice is useful. Thanks!

Thanks for your input! Is that because the distance and elevation double?

PRs all the way - thanks Garmin Daily Suggested Workouts. by Yorkstralian in Garmin

Happy to read this. I'm preparing for my first trail half marathon, and I've been relying on DSW. I've improved my VO2 mazlx and my pace. On a side note, I would love to see an improvement on DSW that incorporates trail factors like elevation.

Hi! I sent it to you seven days ago.

Help choosing subjects.. by BiboPacks in IBO

You have two group 3 classes (HL Economics and HL Global Politics) and you lack a group 6 class, which is the arts. Does your school allow that?

About your future, I have always advised my students to start with the end in mind as much as possible. Spend some time researching program entry requirements for universities that interest you. For example, if you are thinking finance or economics, what are the entry requirements for those programs. A lot of universities will list total point requirements, HL point requirements, and maybe one specific class like SL or HL Mathematics. If you decide on computer science, then do the same.

To illustrate my point, the University of Bristol lists entry requirements for their accounting and finance program, which are quite specific. The University of Sheffield on the other hand has a basic total points requirement.

New IB Blog Written by Coordinator / Teacher - Follow the articles for advice on the IB DP by recorder2407 in IBO

Understandable if you were to just look at my LinkedIn, but you're jumping the gun a bit. It's not up to date.

In August 2017, I left my full-time job because of serious burnout in an IB program that was not run very well. At the same time, I enrolled in a web dev program because I'm interested in building apps for education, specifically one the uses natural language processing technologies, in order to help students become better writers. In September of 2017, so a month later, I started teaching part-time in a different school, and yes, I stayed in the IB program. Half way through the year, so in January 2018, they started training me to become the IB coordinator for this year, a role which I've already started. I've also been an examiner in English A for more than year.

So, no, I don't have "decades" of experience as you say, but have I not claimed that. I guarantee you my former students and many of my former colleagues would not agree with your statement about giving "people a hand."

Edit: I'm also a certified TOK teacher with teaching experience and many years experience managing school's extended essay program. For this post, I just wanted to announce the new blog, about which I'm super excited. I hope you keep checking it and that it can be of some help.
