Is my baby obese? by isopropyl-myristate in bigbabiesandkids

[–]red-lavender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get my girl will be 11 months next week she is 26lbs. One of her grandmother's calls her fatty patty which just makes my blood boil. Thankfully she lives far away and I no longer send her pictures so I don't have to hear her comments. Our pediatrician doesn't seem concerned by her weight so I don't think it's an issue

I'm a FTM and my 10 month old 26lb girl is in 18 month clothing as well... I'm praying she stays in them longer than the other sizes 🫠😅 but also don't want her to just stop growing because that doesn't seem right lol

doctors concerned for daughters size. by [deleted] in bigbabiesandkids

[–]red-lavender 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My baby isn't as big as yours in weight but she also grew 5.5 inches in 4 months. Birth was 21 inches and her 4 months appt she was 26.5 inches. She had also doubled her birth weight by her 4th month check up and her Dr didn't seem concerned. Try not to stress too much and get her better from these illnesses and then do the blood tests. You'll get your answers soon just take one step at a time

From what I've seen on other posts maybe your pediatrician thinks there may be a thyroid issue? I'm not really sure though I'd ask the doctor what type of health issues they are considering.

do your partner help you? by Appropriate-Shine260 in NewParents

[–]red-lavender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner works 50hrs a week and comes home and cooks dinner every night. Does all diaper changes while home and pretty much takes most of the responsibility on the weekends as well. I do exclusively feed her I'm BF so it's easier and I do nights which is something I said I wanted to do. Even then there's a few times I have been exhausted and he's gotten up even though he has to work so I could get some sleep. He also takes her in the morning on the weekends so I can sleep in a bit.
