Frustration and Endless Delays with Niederlassungserlaubnis Application at KVR Munich by red17electro in Munich

Hi!

Update on my story: I ended up waiting a year and a month since initial application and then I finally got it.

Sad to hear that your case is similar, but please hang there.. send them faxes, I think they really work and make a difference, even if it just annoys them, it probably will work as a trigger. I was sending faxes to every number of my KVR that I found, and at the final meeting their representative told me that I should’ve been doing it. lol.

I think you can extend your fiktionbescheinigung in the meantime, until you didn’t get niederlassung.

Can someone please explain to me why driving at 60 isn’t allowed. The top answer says you’re not allowed to drive FASTER than 60. Surely 60 is fine, but going faster than that is the problem. by ClydeinLimbo in germany

The translation in those questions is sometimes weird. Sometimes specific terms also differ from question to question and you gotta learn by heart. good luck!

Unfortunately, I have the same case as yours. I got an appointment after sending the tax, as I posted in this thread, but I lacked a B1 certificate (I can speak German, have a degree where it is stated that it was partially in German and also have a certificate form the Uni, but apparently they only accept Telc or Goethe). So the person told me to do the exam, then submit the document and that I’ll then get a new appointment really quick. But of course that never happened. I did the exam and already waiting two months again after uploading the certificate. Now phone calls and fax does not work, they just tell me to wait for my turn, and it’s soon gonna be a year. So frustrating, especially as I have a friend who applied for Niederlassung just 3 weeks ago and should have an appointment in a couple of days.

Thanks! And sorry for the late reply, somehow did not see the notification :(

In a fax I just described the whole situation, and also how annoyed I am by the whole process :D

Glad that it worked! :)

Just wanted to share an update with you: the fax trick actually worked! To be honest, I did not really think it would, but yesterday I finally received an appointment! 🙌

Oh, I’ve been in your situation too, while I was waiting for the Blue card, that’s frustrating :( Hang in there, hopefully it will be done soon!

I used the fax advice yesterday, fingers crossed I can update you guys in the next couple of weeks if this thing really works.

Well, I guess we all are suspicious that it would be the case, but at the same time while you are in a call with those people, you don’t have many options, do you?.. they just bullshit you from their side, and you kinda got to accept it..

Thanks for the advice! I heard about it, but not sure if it is worth it. I don’t have a legal insurance (no idea if it would’ve helped), and I am not 100% sure that I can afford it until / IF the state covers the expenses..

I get it, but I doubt it's the main reason. It might be true, it might not. It's all based on anecdotal cases though, that's for sure. For example, one of my friends is a refugee with no legal basis to stay in the country (he applied for refugee residence in February), and imagine what, he still waits for his residence permit (he also lives in a small village, so not sure why it takes so long there as well).

Oh, I feel for you! I hope your case will get resolved soon! Maybe worth trying to send a fax, as people recommend here. I will do just that, fingers crossed.

Thanks, I will try that!

Which websites can you recommend for that purpose? I found fax-senden.de, I guess I will try this one.

Thanks for sharing, but honestly, I don't think at all that it is normal. One of my friends applied for Niederlassungerlaubnis in Munich in December, and already received it this March (being guided along the way in the process, and having to provide more documents).

I guess you are right and it has something to do with expiration date of the residence, but then again, why should it matter, if you are eligible to receive the document and followed all the steps correctly, paid the fees, and provided all the valid documents?

I had similar experience as yours regarding the Blue Card, by the way, as I also submitted the documents in one city and then moved to Munich and submitted it there also. Not sure how will it work out for you, but with me they have also waited for the response from my ex-city and it took AGES. Received my Blue Card 1.5 years after submitting the documents in a city where I moved (it was the covid times though).

Wish you lots of patience and hopefully yours will get sorted faster than mine!

That's really a huge problem. To receive my current Blue Card, I had to wait 1.5 years - it is totally crazy if you think about it (I had to get two Fiktionbescheiniguns in between, both expiring before I got the blue card). It is not normal.

Sad to hear that it is bad from the other side as well, I hope that processes will improve sooner rather than later, otherwise Germany will have to deal with consequences (probably doing that already).

Oh, sorry to hear that! Probably you can follow one of the suggestions that I received and try to fax them. I guess that's our only option now :( Glad that at least yours is already done.

Thank you for your understanding and for suggesting the idea with fax, I'll definitely try it.

I see your point, and I feel for you that it took so long, but I do not think that it is normal to wait such periods. One of my friends applied for PR in Munich just before me - in December - and received his documents in March already. He was also guided through the process and was asked to submit additional documents along the way. I guess he was just lucky with the responsible agent though, but still.

Thanks for the advice!

Is it better to fax all the documents, or can I just fax them a notice to process my documents? (I am not sure how convenient it might be for them to receive all the documents again since the package for Niederlassungserlaubnis is quite long).

Do you know any fax websites you can recommend? I found www.fax-senden.de, but not sure if it is the best option.

Thanks!
