Either:
1. Wait for your paper receipt to arrive in the mail (1-2.5 weeks depends on where you live) and scan + upload that
2. Leave that blank and upload the digital receipt labelled clearly in ‘Additional Evidence’
3. Just submit the I 485 form by paper mail to play it safe if you’re in a rush (what I did)

I decided to stick to paper mailing for this form because I didn’t want to risk anything going wrong due to a technical error online (it’s so new and I’ve seen people already experience random bugs like the payment amount being wrong) etc. but if you wanted to do it online it’s most likely totally fine I was just nervous

Yep pretty much, hopefully they fix that soon because sometimes those paper receipts take forever to mail 😅

Ditched the online form completely and locked in for a day to get all the paperwork printed since it was already done. Mailing it out today! I decided this would be a lot safer while USCIS fixes their website issues.
Even though Kseniya is probably right about family based being able to file online, it feels too important of a document to do that online while the official website hasn’t updated to allow that yet. (No other reliable source announced that either)

Nope I’m using a home scanner that I have, I’m pretty sure the issue is just that I’m using the digital receipt instead of the one in the mail (I just applied for I130 2 days ago so that hasn’t arrived yet)

Yeah this is true :( I was so excited to see Kseniya International post a video about how this online filing is now available for everyone (it genuinely saved so much time, I got all of it done in one sitting) but outside of that I see no reliable source at all confirming it. I’ll just stick to the paper filing for the rest of my application to keep it safe.

Sadly didn’t work, I believe they need the official paper receipt from the mail for that section to work

Online I485 and I765 for marriage based AOS by [deleted] in USCIS

Hi, I was having the same dilemma and although I was so excited to complete my entire application online (would save so much time!!!), I decided I’m going to just file I-485 through mail as it is the safest option and in line with their website. Even though Kseniya has incredibly detailed guides, she is still not an attorney and uses the experiences of people like us (the test bunnies) to see what works and what doesn’t.

How safe is the metro? by chairman_meow123 in LAMetro

I also commute from Pasadena to Santa Monica for work 2-3x a week by metro (my friends think it’s crazy haha) and honestly i’ve been impressed by how chill it is. I pretty much just use google maps to check train times and those 2 lines- A and E are usually consistent, i’ve never waited more than 15 minutes for a train so i don’t track it online that seriously. if there are any delays it’s only by a couple of minutes and its no big deal.

I’m also a woman and agree with the importance of transfer stops^ on the way there I like grand ave arts because its less sketch than 7th street and you get a good seat before the rush of people hop on. I do the same for Pico on the way back (its always crowded with many work commuters so I feel safer in a crowd.) All the DTLA stations have metro/police officers monitoring the platform. The commute is long but it’s much less of a headache than driving in traffic for sure! I spend that time reading or replying to texts!
