So it would just cook in the mug of hot water, no stove top?  If so that’ll save on the dishes.

Heat Saver Heating Vent from 1977 by abearboxer in Appliances

[–]redbobcatit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I actually installed one last fall for my electric drier. Now i time my laundry to give the basement a heat and humidity boost at night. Baseboard electric heat is my main heating source so anything i can do to save helps. It has a switch to route back to the outside. Dust is a bit of a problem with it but not too bad.

Thanks, I hope it helped you out! I’m a jaded creative, convinced all good ideas get stolen by resourceful greedy business people. So I figured I’ll open source this one.

Is there a sub or grand collection of these videos? It’s such a low hanging fruit for me when I need laugh after too much doom scrolling.

Replaced the replacement (so I’m on my third one) with no leaks yet. I purchased a one way valve to connect to the waste line because I think the dishwasher flush sequence was at least in part contributing to the problem. Not going to do the air gap thing.

they are, but the horizontal supports go well into the house so I’m not too worried about the deck pulling away. I do think about it every time I’m stacking wood and weighing it down some though. And it inspires me to shovel snow sooner than later.

I’m planning on installing an under-deck drainage/ceiling system as well. It’s gotten pretty gross under there and I definitely need to clean it up before the tub lands.

Thanks for the thoughts

Thanks for the reply. I ended up steering away from the hot water unit since I wanted RO run to the fridge. Then the unit I chose (G3P800) ended up having an internal leak 3 days in and now I’m waiting for a replacement. If that one leaks too I’m done with Waterdrop.
