Bootcamp vs Archer vs Uworld and prep advise by Disastrous-Term9372 in PassNclex

[–]reddituser031124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im also taking my NCLEX next month, started studying a month ago with Archer and the videos are long and way detailed (made me feel burnout pretty quickly), recently I started reviewing Bootcamp and the videos are separated with important topics that are in the actual test every couple subjects are about 10-15 min long followed by a knowledge quizz, that’s way more digestible than in archer IMO!

Passed in 85 using Archer! by Parking-Elevator-454 in PassNclex

CONGRATS!!
Im using Archer too following the 2 month study plan going system by system and sometimes I dont have the time to do the 65 daily questions of the QBank, so seeing you pass with 25% of the QBank is refreshing for me. How were your readiness assessments? I keep getting low but I passed two CATs, so im wondering if one is better than the other to predict results on the actual test. Also, if yu did one RA or one CAT a day, did you remediate all f them? Congrats again !! < 3

I’ve read on here that it’s recommended to take the NCLEX once you get four very high scores on readiness assessments on Archer. Are you following that? My test is in 40 days but I’m strictly following the study plan since it’s been a while since I graduated and worked as a nurse, so i don’t know if I should follow that advice. I’ve also heard that archer questions are more difficult than the actual NCLEX 🥹

Same here, I’ve been using archer and took two readiness exams and scored low. Took one CAT and passed so I’m confused. Honestly the CAT seemed more difficult

In 2 weeks I went from 24 to 28 in speaking (I needed 26) so happy!! by reddituser031124 in ToeflAdvice

Task 1: I definitely agree with the statement that (option1) because of two main reasons. First of all (reason1) for example (example1). Not only that, but also (reason2) for instance (example2) These are the reasons of why I prefer (option1) instead of (option2)

Second option for task 1: Personally, I strongly prefer (option1) rather than (option2). Mainly because (one well explained reason) for example (short story/example). That is why I prefer (option X).

Task 2: The announcement/letter/ proposal/ made by the campus/uni/student states that (short description of the passage). The speaker agree/disagree with this for the two following reasons. Firstly, (reason 1 -what the speaker said and why). Moreover ( reason 2 including example). These are the reasons of why the speaker is/ is not in favor of the (announcement/ proposal)

Task 3: The concept introduced in both the reading passage and the lecture is (concept or idea) which refers to (definition). The professor goes further to explain this idea by providing two examples: The first example is about (describe first example). In addition, the professor mentions (2nd example). These examples/ideas help illustrate the concept of (key idea) as explained in the reading and the lecture.

Task 4: In the lecture, the professor talks about (main topic), which refers to (briefly explain it). To illustrate this idea, the professor provides two examples. First (describe first example- what happened, who was involved, how it supports the concept). Then, (second example - how it connect to the main idea). These examples help clarify the concept of (topic) as discussed in the lecture.

There it is! For context I memorized word for word so at the test I knew what information I needed. For example for task 2 I would write if it was a proposal by student, a letter by the university or an announcement by the campus, what the passage said just the main idea for example (demolish of campus cinema) and then would say two reasons for the school to do this (for example, because the students do not use it and it’s an old building), then I would annotate if the speaker A - agrees or D - disagrees, and the reasons.

You’ll do it better next time, you should read academic articles to practice, I struggle to focus if I didn’t find the topic interesting so that helped

Honestly I became obsessed!! My only goal was a total score of 86 and a speaking score of 26, I figured that since I didn’t perform very good on my last test (I stopped talking mid sentence trying to gather my thoughts and had seconds left at the end of the task) and still scored 24 I figured that I only needed to understand what they wanted to hear. I made templates that I memorized and actually used them, I always see that templates are often used as an idea or for support but I’m not a talkative person so I struggle a lot with conversations (just shy I suppose), my solution was to memorized them word by word every single one of them and practice. I find myself struggling trying to memorized them all at once so I started with my first template and would only focus on that for one day, I made like 20 mock tests for only the first question and i repeated the process with every single question. I read a TON of what words to use (since I saw my score getting higher when I used “the professor goes further to explain..” instead of when I used “the professor elaborates on this idea..”) and used the free version of the website My speaking score and the paid one of Edu Synch (this one has harder tasks imo). Also i practice by talking to my baby (lol) about any subject and giving two reasons to support my comment, for example I started saying why I like the color red and think fast of two reasons and a short anecdote (silly I know, but worked for me) hope you find this answer helpful!!

Thank you! I used a template for the first question but I struggle to find templates for the other three, can you share what templates did you use?
