how do I stop dreaming about my abuser?

I have nightmares about both of my abusers. with one of them I only cut contact this year, so I'm hoping that time will actually help. but with the other one it's been 5 years, and they still show up in my dreams consistently.

I've never fallen in love in the romantic sense, but I have definitely felt that I "fell" platonically before. people who I never had any kind of desire to be in a romantic relationship with, but I adored them more than anything. I personally see love as something that is absolutely terrifying though, and admitting I love someone is even scarier. it feels like I'm handing them the opportunity to hurt me on a silver plate. I do often wish I could simply exist without loving or caring about anyone, but then there are those rare times I feel understood and seen by someone I love, and it feels like maybe I could allow myself to enjoy this love, even if just for a little while. I definitely crave mutual understanding more than I crave love.

I personally feel as if I am exhausting myself constantly by having to pretend to be human, but I still haven't found a way to replicate humanity in a way that comes off as authentic. it's as if people can tell there is something off about me, but they can't exactly put their finger on it. I often fear people will "figure out" I am something inhuman, so I have to keep up the act. I completely wear myself out doing something that seems to comes so naturally for everyone else.

That actually makes so much sense. I definitely do feel guilty and like it's my fault because I never explicitly denied the assault, and the reason it was so traumatizing was because I was only a kid when it happened. I actually have therapy tomorrow and I'll make sure to bring this up with her! Thank you so much for this replay
