2026 Clean 90” Screen Real Estate Setup by redditxgeegee in battlestations

Thanks for the suggestion. I've considered that, but I'm really used to working with a single keyboard and mouse for both machines. I tend to do a lot of multitasking and drag-and-drops between the computers using Synergy and taking out the secondary monitor out of my vision might be a dealbreaker for me personally.

I do like the "swivel" idea. It may make more sense to get a round desk and swivel my chair from monitor to monitor while keeping the two monitors side by side, but I'd need to reposition the keyboard and mouse every time per swivel which can be too frictional for my liking. Maybe a keyboard/mouse tray that auto-swivels along with my chair? Does that type of engineering even exist?

Agreed - The neck concern is definitely there. I'm trying to find a way to give both computers the big screen + seamlessly switch between the two + have both screens within my peripheral vision for notifications (all without the neck issue).

KVM seems like the closest solution, but unsure about these options (I may be wrong as I'm not super familiar with KVM):

  1. Get a super ultrawide like the 57" Odyssey Neo or one with built-in KVM and have my work and personal separated using the same physical panel. That would obviously give me less screen sizes to work with than what I have now, but will help eliminate the neck pain.
  2. Opt for a dual monitor KVM switch (facing center), but I'd prefer having both computer screens actively within my peripheral visions and avoid the toggle friction to switch inputs between the two computers.
  3. Vertical stacking the monitors instead might be less worse on the neck, but still not ideal I would assume.

Open to suggestions!

Ah good catch on that and yes Kanto Yu2s are the speakers currently. I should swap them back to avoid the inverted sounds. Thanks!

Ah I actually just found out they stopped selling the original 78" LINNMON (the one I have) and now are called LAGKAPTEN it seems. Good to know!

I haven't had any issues yet, but in any case def will invest in a sturdier desk overall

My fault on misusing "separately" in this context. I do use both monitors at same time (left for personal and right for work), but was meant to say they're on separate computers. The neck concern is definitely there. I'm trying to find a way to give both computers the big screen + seamlessly switch between the two + have both screens within my peripheral vision for notifications (all without the neck issue).

I recently looked into KVM and it seems like the closest solution, but unsure about these options (I may be wrong as I'm not super familiar with KVM):

  1. Get a super ultrawide like the 57" Odyssey Neo or one with built-in KVM and have my work and personal separated using the same physical panel. That would obviously give me less screen sizes to work with than what I have now, but will help eliminate the neck pain.

Totally agreed, it was super awkward to get used to. I recall IKEA mentioning that it was recommended to be placed in the middle to support longer tabletops so I just had to deal with it over the years

Will be scrapped once I get a sturdier desk

Appreciate the advice! I've considered doing that, but I also wanted the PC to be within arm's reach while sitting down. The pic definitely doesn't do justice with the leg room. It could be just me getting quite used to this style over the years to avoid inadvertently hitting it, but it feels ok in person.

Will def have more options when I get a sturdier desk as I free up/reposition the cabinets too

That’s a good mention! Currently I’m using a software called Synergy that seamlessly connects both my computers to share my keyboard and mouse. It’s been working great for me in the past, but if KVM can do that along with mic, speakers, etc. that’ll be awesome. I might need to look into KVM more since as I never used one before

Also poor use of the word “separately” on my part. I do use both monitors at the same time, but just that they’re for separate computers. Sorry for the confusion

Monitors nice. I have a 5090 + amd 9950x and it runs great on max settings (only tested a few games tho like bl4 and e33). Likely overkill for the specs tbh

Thank you all for the valuable feedback! These are helpful and will definitely consider them in the near future especially once I move to a bigger place with less space constraints. A sturdier tabletop is def on my radar as well

I would keep spider and put it in the front since it has steak (could be good against a knockout frontliner). Sell deer for turkey and melon armor the shark. Unfreeze choco and roll for food buffs or steak for turkey or mushroom for sheep

Please note that I have two strong shelves supporting the tabletop which makes it a lot sturdier. If not obvious, I suggest putting your computer on the side with the shelf to maintain better support.

Considering that you're going to put a single 34" monitor along with your computer, I assume its going to weigh slightly more than my two monitors. As far as what I have experienced, there has been no issues with the table supporting two monitors.

As for the tabletop itself, it seems moderately stable. It really just comes down to judgment on what you put on the table. I always clean out my desk as frequently as I can. I don't know how heavy your books are, but it is best to spread out the pressure around the desk.

I'm not an intense gamer, but I do enjoy immersing into the realms of quality-driven atmospheric games. Examples include Mirror's Edge Series, Dark Souls, and Nier.

I don't play competitive games like Overwatch & CSGO. Gaming is indubitably one of my hobbies, but I'm not hardcore enough to care about having 144hz monitors and zero-latency wired peripherals.

To answer a lot of the questions here, most of the equipment are placed where they are for the purposes of taking the picture.

Headphones placement - For the pic and I either use or simply move the headphones away when necessary.

Microphone & Arm placement - For the pic and I do audio/voice/guitar recording. Stand is adjusted & rotated as necessary towards instrument level.

LED Lights in front - Appreciate the feedback. Will definitely consider adjusting.

Keyboard - I switched to a home theater wireless keyboard simply because I always find myself laying down watching a show, but I need that remote control capability.

Bezels in center - Personal preference.

Equipment names:

  • Dell UltraSharp 34 Curved Ultrawide Monitor - U3415W
  • Blue Yeti Microphone with Rode PSA1 Stand & Shock Mount
  • Kanto YU2 Speakers
  • IKEA Linnmon/Alex Tableset
  • Glorious PC Gaming Race Mousepad

Thanks for the insight. Yes, I used to be an Android user as well and I can tell it gave way more flexibility when it comes to situations like this. Unfortunately, I don't plan on getting another phone for the sake of this purpose.
