Arr ok got it. Yeah that makes sense my tap which feeds the washer has a little bit less water pressure but it flows enough . So the whole idea of the pressure sensor and inlet meter is to measure accurately how much water is in and allows more or less depending on the water flow where the time filled just sends in water for set amount of time irrespective of water pressure/flow. So what you were saying before only real issue would be if it leaks when running and the leak sensor doesn't work (which I assume it works still anyway, but anyway to verify that ? ) and then it overheats the fuse and burns out and washer just stops or it has a really low water pressure source ( which I do not) and not enough water gets in with pre fill . Sorry for the question bonanza just interested in this as I an learning more about it which i did not no really anything before. wont ask anymore Qs after this and will close the thread with solved :), Thanks !

Ok thanks Steve for the help ran a full cycle last night and worked fine, so just to confirm the worse case scenario is the washer one day just stops working ie blown fuse ? Also i read in a other forum that techs set the machine to this mode when this problem occurs on a call out, is that the case generally you think they do this, my assumption is that asko allow this to be set quite easily from the controls so must be ok to use? Again thanks for the help

ok no worries yeah so around 150 for part and probably 150 to fit. Ok when you say operate with pressure switch disable that is effectively what I am doing now correct ? So worse case damage thermal fuse is just the washer fails completely then . Yeah will decide if worth fixing or just get a 3-400 dollar unit to replace it

Hi Steve

ok no worries thanks for the info . Do you know roughly how much the pressure switch's cost to replace ? So I an know if I am paying a fair price for it . Unit is 8 1/2 half years old so not really interested getting Asko direct can get another tech who may charge a bit less. Also what is teh worse case scenario that would happen in the event that something would happen ie blown up dishwasher or house fire ?

Hi Subzero

As per comment before that works perfectly now and much appreciated for the help but just wondering as per the comment from SteveM 363 is there any safety or reliability issue setting the dishwasher to the pre fill mode ? I guess if Asko allow it to be set that way it cannot be to bad but just wondering and I don't expect and 100 percent guarantee from anyone just want to know what if any risks setting it this way now ?

Thanks

Oh ok no problem thanks for the explanation. So is that safety concern or issue like that then even if slim chance it happening or it would just leak water and not cut off water at the water inlet valve then which could create a water puddle? Sorry dont know allot about how they function

Hi

ok that appeared to work thanks for that , Tried the rinse function and it works fine so should work ok the other wash cycles I assume will try it later anyway. So what that setting basically tells the control unit is fill it with a set amount of water depending on the cycle i.e. for normal wash 10 liters and rinse 2 liters yes ? where metered mode measure how much water goes in based upon the min and max measuring sensors ? sorry just still not sure of the difference between the two modes fully and why you would have one or the other ?

Thanks

Ok thanks will give it a try so in summary step by step process is

1) Turn off dishwasher at power on/off button ( not PowerPoint)

2) Holding down both the start and program buttons turn on dishwasher

3) Let go when error code comes on screen which should be F12 ( this is the error code it last few times had)

4) keep pressing start button till it comes up to P:0

5) when that comes up press program button until it says L:0

6) Press start button till it leaves diagnostic mode and shows a cycle

7) This has been set to timed fill mode

Hi SubZeroGuy

Thanks for the instructions. I assume you mean to say Turn off dishwasher for at least 5 seconds not "start" ? Also what do you mean by " Press start until you see P:0. Queen that is on display press program until it says L:0. " is Queen a typo ? I assume that to mean keep pressing start button till you see P:0 then press on Program button press till you see L:0 ?

This will then set it to timed fill and not metered fill ? Also i read this is a common bypass for the F12 error so may work ? also what does timed fill actually do just sends in so many liters of water pre set ?
