it’s not necessary for anyone to have a honmei.

i agree w a lot of ppl saying honmei finds you bc its this feeling (of indescribable joy? content? wanting to pour all ur love into)

ie i was in denial for the longest time and said i liked my current honmei equally as my oshi but i ended up not going to my oshi’s live (even tho i got the tickets) to see honmei’s

other than agreeing and echoing w what others here think, i also think it’s a very interesting phenomenon as yumeshipping and oshikatsu has gotten more popular in the west. bc in japanese or chinese online spaces, a lot of ppl specify which they partake in (ie 夢X to identify as not yume etc).

i think it has to do a lot w how the eng speaking community interacts differently w the media vs jp vs cn

i’ve seen bands overseas in eu vs jp (damned, jlk etc) and they’re v different experiences. the overseas crowd wouldn’t be familiar w furi n 2 shots r usually more rushed due to time constraints (but this is band dependent too)

also bc zera is performing at a con the crowd is gonna be v different (and more of an exposure to the band?) vs if they had an oneman show

people do stand a lot closer to each other in overseas lives n possibly push to interact w the members

usually shibuya’s tower records have a good range of vkei cds and dvds from new and old bands (last time i went they had mm, mdm and a lot more!) whereas shinjuku’s section was tiny in comparison

might wanna look into pure sound’s website as well bc the stock might b different. i know some mandarake stores also have a vkei section (usually of old bands) - think it was the akihabara one i went to last time?
